20.01.2022 Taiwan Film Festival in Australia Congratulation to this year's Short Film Competition winner Unnamed directed by Chang Chun-Yu and Gao Hong. The story starts with Zhang Ya-Ting wants to switch to a gender-neutral name. She goes to her best friend Hong Jia-Hao but interrupts him in the middle of hooking up with someone from a dating app. The production of the film took 5 days to shoot, but the script took them one year to complete and another half year in the post-production. The other 3 finalists are Lipstick, Be Shit or Not to Be, and A-Tien. This year's competition juries, Hsiao Ya-Chuan (Father to Son, Taipei Exchange, and Mirror Image), Maya Newell (Gayby Baby, In My Blood It Runs), and Sally Wu (The Good Daughter, Country Boys) to select the winner from the 4 finalists from the competition. https://www.taiwanfilmfestival.org.au

Jack Thompson at 80: A Tribute will raise funds for the Indigenous-owned and run health service The Purple House, a charity close to Jacks heart. David Stratton has selected three classic Australian features. BREAKER MORANT, SUNDAY TOO FAR AWAY (recently restored and preserved digitally by NFSA - National Film and Sound Archive of Australia, and THE SUM ...OF US will be presented online. Its all happening from Monday 31 August (Jacks birthday) to Sunday 6 September. The program is presented by David Stratton, with the support of NFSA & SFF. Tickets on sale now at www.sff.org.au

05.01.2022 In 2018 Jack Thompson was set to film High Ground in Kakadu but couldnt do it without dialysis. The Purple House stepped in with their mobile dialysis truck so the show could go on. They did this to thank Jack for his contribution to Indigenous people over many years.
