25.01.2022 Having your dad in so much pain is something no one ever wants to see. But he is now at peace as he sadly passed away at his home and he is now with mum. Being able to help this family in such weird times has been an honour. We will be laying the ashes to rest at the church grounds they bought back in 1981.

24.01.2022 Losing a loved one is never easy. You never want to forget them and nor should you. So we have a way where families get to say thank you to everyone for their kind thoughts, attendance and gestures by handing out these thank you cards. Inside the paper are seedlings with the flowers called Forget-Me-Nots. You simply add water, put them in a pot and watch them grow. #funerals #covid19funerals #affordablefunerals #sydneyfuneralsathome #funeralsinsydney #sydneyfuneralhome #sydneyfuneralcelebrant #death

22.01.2022 Last week, Tony went for a walk in the Blue Mountins and sadly didnt return and was found 5 days later, sadly passed away. His son travelled down from Byron Bay to organise the funeral on his own. With no family in Sydney as his family is all in the USA, I offered to bring him to ocean where his son could decorate the coffin inside the hearse and spend some time with him before his final journey. As we departed friends played on their guitars from their balcony! . Not too many companies can do this, but at Sydney Funerals, we offer alternative solutions for families in unusual times! . #sydneyfunerals #funeralswithadifference #funeralsbythesea #funeralsbytheocean #covidfunerals

20.01.2022 What do you do with your loved ones ashes after cremation? . Wardrobe, laundry, basement? . Well here is a beautiful idea!... . Have some of your loved ones ashes made into beautiful piece of jewellery that will last forever and be with you forever! These are made by @Nicoleta_stephens and I just love showing these to families. #love #nicoleta #keepsakes_by_nicoleta

19.01.2022 We have a customer wanting to scatter the ashes of their loved out at sea, but were worried about the wind!! Here is a biodegradable urn option that you can release at sea and when it’s ready will sink to the bottom and release the ashes over time. #ashesatseas #turtle #urns #biodegrableurns #nowindplease

19.01.2022 I love how all countries have different versions of the very important vehicle for all funerals - the Hearse. . Whats your favourite? . Im a little bias.

17.01.2022 Sometimes a simple flower arrangement can speak volumes of a person. You can even bring your own flowers.

17.01.2022 I maybe a little bias, but a Celebrant is one of the most important elements at a wedding or a funeral. At a funeral it is so critical to ensure that I have professionals working with me for the families to ensure that the service goes perfectly! #funeralcelebrant #funeralsinsydney #covidfunerals... #makeorbreak #getpaidwhatyourworth #listeningisthekey #notaboutme #affordablefuneralsinsydney #youonlygetonechance www.sydneyfunerals.com

14.01.2022 2019 - Q. "Would you like Live-streaming of the funeral?" With a quick loud and shocked response of families - NO! . 2020 - Without even asking, families now say, "we need live streaming!" before I walk in the door. . With the world that has changed so quickly with Covid, the funeral industry has had to change to adapt to the conditions that were given to us around funeral numbers on a weekly basis.... . I have 2 very good teams that do live-streaming and do not cost the earth. Whilst some people watch live, most people watch in their own time in the follow 24-72hours. #funerals #death #funeraldirectors #affordablefunerals #sydneyfuneralsathome #covid19funerals #funeralsinsydney #sydneyfuneralcelebrant #sydneyfuneralhome #sydneyfunerals #funeral

13.01.2022 Yesterday I was completing a service at a memorial park out west, when a gentleman approached me as I sat in my Hearse completing paperwork. . He saw my branding Sydney Funeral Co. affordable funerals in Sydney and proceeded to ask me questions. . He then told me that is Mother-in-law had passed and they had engaged another FD who was charging $11k plus the burial plot. I told him that my cost is $7k plus the burial plot. He nearly fell over backwards. We since chatte...d that afternoon and he told me that his wife had already signed the paperwork with the other FD. . My point is: - shop around - Ask questions - get at least 3 quotes - outsource the decision to a friend who isnt in grief or shock - do some research - Google cheap or affordable funerals But the most important thing to remember is that there is no rush!. #funerals #covid19funerals #affordablefunerals #sydneyfuneralsathome #funeralsinsydney #sydneyfuneralhome #sydneyfuneralcelebrant #death #grief #sydneyfunerals #memorial

12.01.2022 Sydney Funeral Co. officially launches Tap a Little Contribution in Sydney. Check it out at www.tapalittlecontribution.com.au

12.01.2022 White on white looks very classy, but when we place red roses on the coffin during reflection it just brings that element of style up a notch. Flowers can mean so much to some people and this family wanted all roses!

11.01.2022 Funerals are now unlimited numbers... just the 4sqm rule applies!

09.01.2022 Today we farewelled a 91yo man that worked in the Taxi industry for most of his life and had some stories to tell of all the changes over time within the industry. When we chose the chapel down at Little Bay, the family were so happy as they went down there as children. The family arrived in a maxi taxi which was in honour to their dad. The weather was horrendous but was also such a good backdrop overlooking the ocean to say farewell to their dad.

09.01.2022 Mercy looking her best at Woronora this week! #88merc #mercedeshearse #woronoracemetery #88benz

09.01.2022 Today we held a memorial service for a Clovelly local at Clovelly Surf Club. With the ocean wild today, yet inside was calm and peaceful. Everyone was given a flower on arrival for reflections and also a candle ceremony was held allowing everyone to reflect on their time with Noreen. . How stunning are these flowers! . Thank you to the local team Mi-Chelle Nixon-Young and Vivien Reed - Marriage Celebrant Sydney and Angus for your assistance.

08.01.2022 Today’s family requested Harry as they are from the Northern Beaches and thought was only fitting. Here’s Harry looking all shiny. #harrythehearse #sydneyfunerals #sydneyfuneraldirector #sydneyfuneralco #sydneyfuneral #dothingsdifferently #sfco

08.01.2022 Did you know our most popular choice of coffins lately is this Black Richmond. Whilst black is normally associated with death, it looks beautiful with any type of flowers colours or style. This coffin only cost our families $360, yes $360 and is fully lined with 6 handles. 08.01.2022 Today we said goodbye to our first Covid case. Not because of the virus it’s self, but for what the virus is doing to the elderly. Sadly this mother of 4 and dozens of grandchildren and great grand children said when Covid hit the nursing home’s and they all went into lock down if I can’t see my family, I will stop eating. Sadly she went from 80kgs to 34kgs when she passed. So sad to hear this story, but I know what seeing family to the elderly means to them. I’m sure this is not the first and sadly not the last. #covidhitstheelderly

07.01.2022 The sound of bag pipes playing at a funeral are just so powerful and very emotional. We love them as it allows everyone to reflect on the persons life!

06.01.2022 At Sydney Funeral Co. we like to give our families lots of options. . When we get to the choice of coffins, just know, we only charge you what we pay for them. . We can source coffins that cost $150 MDF coffin, right up to $3,500 Italian hand made coffin. Plus we also source Banana Leaf coffins made in Bali, costing only $700. ... All sourced from our good friends Scientia coffins in Sydney.

06.01.2022 Holding a candle ceremony at the beginning of a service is a nice way to allow everyone to take a deep breath and allow their loved know they are there.

06.01.2022 Just love this picture for so many reasons! Mercy looking her best. The sky is awesome. The contrasting colours. But most of all, being able to bring this family’s mum in style to her final resting place.

05.01.2022 Nothing like a beautiful warm timber finish for the back of Mercy. Stay tuned. @inhimclassiccars

05.01.2022 Macquarie Park have just launch some new crypts at their Bushland Cemetery in Frenchs Forest. We know land is expensive in Sydney and may eventually run out, so going up is one way in the future. Prices start from $19,000 for a single, and then up to $63,800 for a double. . What are your thoughts?

05.01.2022 If you want to spend $200 or $2,000 on flowers. Thats ok. Just know that most of the time, they cant actually be cremated with your love one and are often thrown into the bin. This is due to the green foam that the flowers are in or they are too big to fit. So we always inform you of this so that you can either take them home or we can take them to the local nursing home or hospital.

05.01.2022 White rose arrangement with individual red roses were exactly what the family wanted for their nan.

04.01.2022 Eulogies are the most powerful part of a funeral service! Sometimes we learn things about the person we never ever thought could happen or be true! #storytellingatfunerals

04.01.2022 We dont just place our kids into any daycare centre without research. We dont just place our elderly into any aged care facility without research. We dont just go to any doctor without research. . So why dont we research funeral directors more before anything happens? ... . Doing research will empower your decisions when the time comes. Not knowing may only cost you in the long run. . Our company is based on being open and transparent with everything from the time of death of your loved one... all the way through to your invoice. . 04.01.2022 Tonight we said goodbye to a gentleman with a private sunset farewell at LaPerouse. . Sadly he passed suddenly during the week. . We then went back to his home where his good neighbours came and said goodbye. See more

04.01.2022 I do love what I do and I love when my families love how I do what I do.... with a great team of course. Thank you Oliver Thomson Simon Edds Last Thursday in the pouring rain at Macquarie Park Rose Chapel, we said goodbye to this true gentleman... The family then sent me this note: ... My father-in-law passed away on Anzac Day and from the time I contacted Scott, to the time we said our final goodbyes at the funeral, he was able to gently take control and guide us through the process with care and compassion. Its at times like this that families need gentleness and understanding, and Scott and his team certainly gave us that. Thank you very much Scott for helping us through this difficult time, made even more challenging with the Corona restrictions...SF2020 #covid19funerals #susanaveryflowers #macquarieapark

03.01.2022 Today we farewelled a man that was connected to lots of communities around Sydney, yet kept to himself. His love for karaoke, golf and being the secretary of the social club at his pub came through from his friends today. The niece asked for some Green Goddess Calla Lilys, and against the black coffin, they just looked stunning. Farewell Kevin and may you sing your lungs out wherever your next journey takes you! Thank you to the team today @nicole smith, Greg McCallum Oliver Thomson Harry The Hearse and Angus for your team work today! Harrys also had a little make over and looks nice and shiny! Thank you to the girls at Copperbeech for doing something a little different, yet still very affordable. @debbiebraund

03.01.2022 Today our newest addition to the family took her maiden voyage. Welcome to the family Mercy the Mercedes.

03.01.2022 A few years apart but the history of the hearse is fascinating. The first hearse with an engine appeared in 1909. Before that it was a horse drawn carriage. In some countries they call them funeral coaches. The most important passenger inside is always driven to their final resting place with style, class and dignity. Plus my vehicles, play their favourite playlist!!

03.01.2022 Wow, this is a very interesting concept!

02.01.2022 To me music is the most important part of ceremony, behind the story telling. . Yesterday I did a funeral for a gentleman that was part of The Easybeats in the early days. You know Friday on my mind! . The order of service was an actual record cover, which is very unique, that his daughter designed. ... . What song(s) would be played at your funeral? But more importantly who have you told? #funeralsinsydney #funeraldirectors #sydneyfuneralcelebrant #Musicatmyfuneral

01.01.2022 This is a great initiative from the NSW Department of Customer Service. . This service allows family members to login and enter the details of their loved ones who have passed, and the details are verified and then companies are notified accordingly. . Over time the list of companies and organisation will continue to grow.... . Great initiative. . https://deathnotification.gov.au See more
