20.01.2022 Hefty fines, disconnected cycleways and heavy traffic earned Sydney the reputation of being an anti-cyclist city. But following a boom in bike sales since coron...avirus restrictions came into force, and fewer cars on the road inviting people to dust off their bikes and use them, that perception could be eroded. The City of Sydney offers group cycling courses designed to have citizens riding safely in its streets. But after social distancing restrictions put the brakes on group lessons, the city offered one-on-one lessons in its place, showcasing its commitment to having more people riding as Covid-19 restrictions ease.

15.01.2022 Sunday 23 August is to be a Safe Cycling Day and Sydney Safe Cycling and Bicycle NSW are asking riders to pin a special message bib onto the back of their jerseys, displaying the safe passing distance for vehicles. We are hoping that if enough riders wear these bright bibs on that same day, car drivers will be made more aware of the rule to keep us safe. Doubles as a social distancing reminder. Many messages available, check the website. ... https://sydneysafecycling.godaddysites.com/shop

In May 2019, by the end of the first two stages of development, they recorded 874 fish, with six native species found including carp gudgeon, fly-specked hardyhead and longfin eel. Back on land, meanwhile, there are reports that a big male kangaroo has now adopted the site as his own, and that bird life is thriving." 01.01.2022 Here in a nut shell is the rationale and justification for the twenty year long promotion of the Sydney Green Ring, from Aeon online magazine: "The need for cognitive accommodation makes you aware that there is a lot you don’t know. You feel small, insignificant and part of something bigger. In this way, awe is a self-transcendent emotion because it focuses our attention away from ourselves and toward our environment. It is also an epistemic emotion, because it makes us aware... of gaps in our knowledge. We can feel overwhelmed looking at the night sky, deeply aware that there is so much we don’t know about the Universe. In one recent study, participants listed nature as their most common elicitor of awe, followed by scientific theories, works of art and the achievements of human cooperation." In short, 'awe shucks'. https://aeon.co//how-awe-drives-scientists-to-make-a-leap/ 28 Aug 2020
