25.01.2022 The elimination Match between the Sydney Ignite Club and the Power Source was called off due to foul weather followed by few showers unfortunately . The match has been rescheduled to be held on the coming Sunday. Please stay tuned , details will be provided later.

25.01.2022 We embrace defeat being optimistic. Sydney Ignite club was defeated by Silver Bullets by 61 runs. After winning the toss, Silver Bullets decided to bat first, Mazharul(69), Sadmim(59) and Mafid(46) put an overwhelming batting exhibition and helped the team to settle on a massive 222/3 after 25 overs. ... Ignite Bowling power tired their best to get an early break through but few catches were dropped and nearly escaped the fielders. Amit stormed the opponent, stopped at 66 just out of 35 balls with some massive sixes. The opener duo Kamal(20) and Amit steered the partnership to be a decent 82 after 9.5 overs. Middleware tried to score some quick runs to keep up with massive asking rate of the big total but all of them got out while trying to hit six at the deep square leg. Nantu (28) as usual was holding up one end tightly, SIC got out at 160. Cricket is indispensable part of SIC and we are proud of our culture and discipline. We had constructive discussions to identify the areas to improve, we played with positive attitude and we are well determined to come back strongly. Johir got one of his finger hurt while valiantly tried to catch a hard hit return and decided to be on the field with the bandage smeared with blood and sweat. Our beloved Captain Rajib decided to play the match in spite of his prolonged injury . Our cheer leader Subir Da was in field to encourage us with his prolonged injury. These are all inspirational and exemplary gestures of dedication,courage, last but not the least the commitment of these invaluable members of SIC and they underpin the bonds and the foundation. 24.01.2022 We are one step closer to lift the Shadhinota cup Australia, as we will be facing the Assassins this coming Sunday at the quarter final face off. All the boys are pumped up and we are expecting a competitive and a entertaining match. So dear followers, please be present to the ground to be swept off your feet .... Be safe and sound and enjoy to the fullest.... ---------------------------------------------------- Over a billion people worldwide will begin celebrating Diwali, the Festival of Lights, also known as Deepavali, the ancient tradition, which dates back over thousands of years, is observed by many faiths. This year, Diwali will be celebrated on Saturday, November 14, 2020. There are numerous folklore associated with the ancient festival. The most popular one credits it to residents of Ayodhya, who lit their homes with diyas to mark the return of King Rama, his wife Sita, and his brother Lakshmana from a 14-year exile imposed by the king's stepmother. Others believe Diwali celebrates the day Lord Krishna defeated demon Prince Narakasura and brought peace to earth. Though the tales may vary, they all celebrate the triumph of good over evil! -----------------------------------------------------

22.01.2022 Sydney Ignite club has sustained the wining streak by beating Sydney Predators comprehensively by 57 runs in their third match. After winning the toss in a bright, sunny cricket day, SIC elected to bat first, although the start was not promising, after losing three wickets in first four overs (3/20) , SIC was suffocating and was at back foot and then, MR Subrta Saha Monty appeared as the protagonist of this epic battle story, steered SIC to secure a healthy total (8/170) by ...scoring 69 runs out of 63 balls, coupled with excellent batting by Nantu and Rahul. SIC bowlers showcased an outstanding exhibition of superb performance to bowl out the opponent to only 113 after 22.4 overs. Rahul(3/16), Farhad(3/18) and Shekhar(2/16)bowled outstandingly. It was overall a great team effort with right aggressive body language supported by excellent fielding. As expected, Subrata Saha Monty bagged the Man of the match.

20.01.2022 The day was not for us, dream was shattered, although cricket was definitely there with all it's arms being opened unconditionally coupled with excellent weather/arrangement/support. Rajib lived up to his reputation of winning the toss, decided to bat first. Rajib and Amit stormed the opposition by scoring a whopping 73 run in first 10 overs despite of the early dismissal of Maruf. Crowd was enthralled by Rajib’s another (4th) half century. The hit man Monty (S k Saha) steer...ed the score to be a decent 147 after 20 overs. Assassins reached to the winning stroke at 19.1 overs with an exhilarating opening partnership between Manjurul and Farhunur. We are very much indebted to our beloved well-wishers and club members for their ongoing on/off the field support. We are well determined to rectify our mistakes to return strongly in the upcoming tournaments. Special thanx to Shakhar and his wife for arranging relishable food which is more than enough to cope with pain of any match loss. 18.01.2022 Sydney ignite club encountered the mighty Cricket Bros in its last group match and the ground was luck to witness a tale of bravery and scintillating, nerve holding performances . Cricket Bros won the toss and decided to bat first. SIC bowlers displayed a great performance (Amit and and Subrata bagged 3 wickets each) restricted them to 131. SIC edged past , reached the target of 132 runs after losing 8 wickets at 23.5 overs.... The opening duo (Rajib and Sarbey) had a healthy and promising partnership of 84 runs, the match was well under the control of SIC and seemed to be an easy match for SIC but Cricket Bros never lost their hope and with their iron determination and some excellent bowling spells, they picked up few wickets in regular intervals later on and SIC was pushed back to back foot. 2 runs were needed in 2.0 overs (12 balls) with 2 wickets remaining. Saiket and Maruf hold their nerves and helped SIC to win the match. The will be always space to improve, few catches were dropped by us and some silly shot selections were made by us while batting. 16.01.2022 No Dr@ma M@te, well it was one of those rarest moment in today’s first BSL 2.0 match between Sydney Ignite Club and Rockdale Risers when this Aussie colloquialism deviated from the very literal meaning totally and turned into full blown dramas and excitement. Good news, SIC secured its first victory, although in the super over in a nail biting gallantry saga and the hero was our beloved Monty Da(Subrata Saha) who was declared MOM for his excellent contribution in the... bowling (5 wickets)and batting (single handedly scored the required 7 runs in the super over effortlessly ) We would like to express our gratitude to our sponsor(Macher Haat Bazar) . 14.01.2022 Greetings, Hopefully everyone is doing good in the COVID downtime, but believe me, we are cricket fanatic and nothing is going to dampen our spirit, as promised, we are about to entertain and tickle your excitement on this imminent Sunday in an elimination match with one of the most formidable yet very amicable team(Power Source) in our community. 12.01.2022 My last night winning dream during the delicious slumber was somehow interrupted (happy to blame my wife’s sumptuous dishes) at the end but conceivably, in the reality ,the end in the spectacular match between the mighty Sydney Ignite club and the Power source, favored us (SIC). An absolute showcase and demonstration of exemplary team work, attitude and aggressive body language helped SIC to claim a comprehensive win. SIC elected to bat first after winning the toss ( Blame ...Captain Rajib’s Toss luck) , losing wickets in regular interval was debilitating SIC to grip the reign of the match but Maruf,Rajib,Monty and Arup’s impregnable stance helped SIC to put 116 after 20 overs. Bowlers (Credit to all the bowlers) emerged as the emancipator being supported by excellent fielding (Credit to all the fielders) restricted the opponent to only to 91. 12.01.2022 Durga Puja, Way to celebrate the life During the COVID downtime in 2020 when the time is unprecedented and tough but emotions are definitely not, the celebrations are in full swing mostly in our hearts and minds, the spirit to churn out happiness will never die in the hearts of Bengali whatsoever may come, because it is indeed about CELEBRATING life in those 5 days. On behalf of SIC(Sydney Ignite Club) family, we would cordially like to wish everyone a happy Durga Puja with... lots of elation and prosperity. The much-awaited Durga Puja is all set to begin from October 22, 2020 (Shashthi) and will end on October 26, 2020 (Dashami). This is a five-day(Shashthi, Saptami, Ashtami, Navami and Dashami ) festival (also celebrated as Navratri in many parts of the world) dedicated to Goddess Durga, Goddess Durga is known to be the most powerful deity as she has been bestowed with united powers of many Gods to eliminate all the demons on earth. The ten arms of the Goddess signify the protection of her devotees from all directions, which are the eight corners and from the sky and the earth. Devotees believe that Goddess Durga enters the mortal world on Maha Shashthi after she completes her journey in Kailash. It is said that she comes to earth to visit her father and arrives with her children Ganesha, Kartika, Laxmi, and Saraswati. This day is often considered a custom for ladies to participate and set up the Durga Ghat before Durga arrives so that she feels welcomed to her father’s home. To celebrate this festival, people usually buy new clothes and visit puja pandals. They also take part in cultural events and have elaborate feasts. On Dashami traditionally the idols of Durga and other gods and goddesses are immersed in the river or any other water body. Women smear vermillion or sindoor on the idols and on each other. This ritual signifies wishing a blissful marital life. People also perform a traditional dance called Dhunuchi naach which involves performing with an incense burner. Sandhi Puja, held at the juncture between Ashtami Tithi and Navami Tithi, is one of the major rituals performed during this festival. The intoxication of Dhak err Taal ,the intensity of incense and the power of Vedic Mantra evokes the soul of heaven . Let’s get imbued with the inspiration of life and pray to Goddess Durga MA to give us enough strength to withstand ill.

09.01.2022 Not our day. Sydney Ignite club has kissed the dust for the first time in its clash with Infantry XI of the BSL tournament. Sydney ignite lost the toss and was put into batting.... Kamal and Amit provided a steady start of 50 runs after 6.5 overs but the middleware was not able capitalize on it. Rahul appeared as savior, played some excellent shots and helped the team to score 148 after 25 overs. SIC failed to get some initial breakthrough while bowling, fielding was not up to the mark. Emon and Jawaad were impregnable and steered Infantry XI to score the winning run at 20.3 overs. We are well determined to come back strongly in our next match. Stay Safe and sound.

He is in sublime touch this season and once again he is the sa...viour for Sydney Ignite club . Sydney predators started with the best of starts scalping 4 wickets just for 33 . Rajib Sarker got out early by a brilliant - arguably the catch of the tournament by Asif Adnan . But Then it was The Monty show . He played one of his best innings with shots all around the ground and took the game away from Sydney Predators . He anchored two vital partnerships with Nanto Deb & Skd Rahul . He has already taken a 5 wicket haul and is in BSL Honour's board . And We are just in the beginning of the season . 06.01.2022 Sydney Ignite Club(SIC) lost to the SIXERS in the elimination round. SIC won the toss and decided to bat first. SIXER’S bowlers were on fire and showcased a great tight bowling performance, took wickets on regular interval, restricted SIC to only 83 after 20.5 overs. SIC failed to build up any substantial batting partnership. Subrata(SIC) provided an excellent start by bagging two early wickets but SIC was unable to capitalize on it. SIXERS hit the target by losing 3 wicket...s after 15.1 overs. The will be always space to improve, one catch was dropped and some silly shot selections were made by us. We would like to wish best of luck to all the teams made to the quarterfinal and also like to thank to the BSL (organizer) for arranging the tournament meticulously. SIC won 5 matches out of 7 in the group league and made to elimination. We are proud of our culture and our achievement. Keep up the great body language.
