25.01.2022 Ruth Bader Ginsberg has died. She was a champion of justice, a leading advocate of reason and humanity. She was courageous, determined and an inspiration to all involved in social justice when everything worked against women advancing in their careers. Today is truly a sad day but may it mark the beginning of the ongoing celebration of her life and achievements. Thank you Ruth for showing women everywhere what we can achieve.
23.01.2022 How cool are our clients! Thanks Bob. You made our job super easy!
21.01.2022 Before we enter 2021, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all your support this year. It has been a long year for everyone and we have had to adapt and rise to meet challenges we never expected. I want to thank our wonderful team for their hard work this year. As they take a much needed break, we wish you all a safe and happy New Year and look forward to supporting you in the year ahead.

20.01.2022 When the Judge announced that the jury had reached its verdict, my throat closed up and tears threatened my composure. Have you reached a verdict? Yes we have. What do you say to count one: Not Guilty. What do you say to count two: Not Guilty. I glanced sideways at my client's sisters, one of whom was struggling to breath and had tears streaming down her face. His mum looked at me and mouthed the words "Thank you". As my client left the dock to join his family in th...e public gallery, I gently squeezed his arm as he walked by. We had walked this road together, and although it was the jury that gave him back his liberty, it was the work of my team and our wonderful barrister, that had produced today's result. I had walked this journey with my client and his family since the morning of his arrest. In the first week alone, we invested long hours in the preparation of his application for bail. In the many months since his release from custody, we have worked tirelessly to interrogate the evidence against him, and give him the best possible defence. We left no stone unturned, spoke to many many witnesses, examined documents and prepared for a lengthy trial. The trial lasted 3 and a half weeks and today the jury acquitted him of all charges. Now that I have time to reflect, I realise what a mammoth accomplishment we have achieved. I am incredibly proud of our paralegal, Zaynab Gul, for her focused and careful preparation of the matter with me. I am exceptionally proud of our entire team who have run trolleys of documents into court, made sure we had everything I needed when we needed it, and kept the office running whilst I was in Court. And I am exceptionally grateful to the jury that gave their time and diligent attention to hearing and considering the evidence in what was an extremely difficult case. Results like these, and the beaming smiles on the faces of my client, his family and friends, remind me of the reasons why I became a lawyer. It is truly a privilege.
17.01.2022 I love receiving messages like this one :) "Just a quick thankyou for yesterday. I really appreciate your professionalism and efficiency in dealing with my matter. Your ability to manage the intricacies of the court system and the associated characters within that realm is impressive! Then to be able to explain it to a layperson such as me in a reassuring way was most appreciated. It was also a pleasure to meet Peter and to see him in full flight. Say thanks to him next time you see him".
16.01.2022 Long hours and buckets of determination, help us achieve client focused outcomes.
16.01.2022 In the middle of an incredibly busy week this email dropped into our inbox. Finalists for the second year running. We are just so humbled by the support that we receive from our community. The relationship we have with the local community is one that we cherish. Thank you for your support.
15.01.2022 Can really relate to the tsunami of emails and court appearances by phone right now ....
14.01.2022 As we emerge from lockdown, we have developed a COVID-19 Safety Plan and are committed to keeping our staff, clients, and suppliers safe. Social distancing, applying the 4 metre square rule, holding conferences via AVL and telephone where ever possible, good hygiene and cleaning practices, and keeping a record of every person that enters our premises so that we can contact people quickly.
13.01.2022 Bail conditions, ADVO compliance. Knowing that everyone is in lockdown, with less street policing needed, there are far greater resources to undertake compliance checks than ever before.

10.01.2022 VALE JUDGE GUY ANDREWS: It is with deep sadness that we read this morning of the death of His Honour Judge Guy Andrews. As lawyers, we live a life of service to our clients and to the law. The work of a family lawyer can be extremely challenging and although we work diligently and tirelessly to achieve the best results that we possibly can, aggressive lawyers and delays in the system bind separating people together for much longer than is healthy. I recall years ago, I le...arned of the death of another esteemed colleague. When I saw him in Court, he always offered a friendly face and a smile. He always made time available to offer a young lawyer support and words of experienced wisdom. To practice in law is a privilege, but we are reminded this morning of the toll it can take on the people that are fundamental to its operation. To my lawyer friends and colleagues, please take time for self-care. Be kind to, and check-in, with each other. May he now rest peacefully. See more
09.01.2022 Domestic violence is never acceptable. If you, or someone you know, is experiencing domestic violence, call police on 131 444. In an emergency, always call Triple Zero (000).
