Rescued produce helps feed vulnerable Australians, and it's this time of year when they need it the most. Our Community Pantry is a community food rescue, raising awareness about food insecurity and waste, while supporting their members through donations, gift giving and spreading the Christmas cheer.

04.01.2022 Sydney Markets Environment Manager Con Kapellos and the team at our waste-recycling facility 'Green Point' are constantly building relationships to further the sites sustainability goals. One such initiative allows farmers to collect food waste to feed their stock - diverting the produce from landfill and helping out our drought affected farming community. Farmer Glenn Dwyer from Bathurst comes twice a week to collect 2000 tonnes of produce per year.

03.01.2022 It has been an incredibly difficult year, but nothing can compare to the 2019/2020 bushfire season, colloquially known as the Black Summer. The entire Sydney Markets community are grateful for the efforts of the NSW Rural Fire Service. Batlow is a key producer of Australia’s apples, and considered by many growers as the premium apple growing region in Australia. The community at Batlow is incredibly important to Sydney Markets, and has been for over 100 years.... On behalf of the Sydney Markets community, we are pleased to continue our support of the NSW RFS with a donation of $150,000 towards the purchase of a new Firetruck for Batlow, along with other generous donations, to assist efforts in protecting our farming lands. Special thanks to the Sydney Markets Foundation!
