22.01.2022 With the continued community transmission of COVID-19 we have decided its best for our patients, ourselves, our families and the community that we ALL wear masks whilst in the clinic. If anyone has any concerns with this, please dont hesitate to discuss it with us. Kylie can make you a colourful one ... We appreciate your understanding with this

21.01.2022 Great to be back out there looking after the St Pats boys again ... even better getting the win over St Doms On to the next round in 3 weeks with the aim of becoming the Schoolboy Cup Champs

20.01.2022 Jason and Kylie Early in March we had to make the tough decision to protect our patients and the business to break contact with each other as a group and move Jason and Kylie to full time providing the in-home service and no longer having clinic appointments. Not an ideal situation for either of you, but one you both knew was the right decision and took it with grace. Not one complaint, not one question about when you can return to the clinic. Instead, we looked afte...r each other and made sure there was enough work for us all to survive. Times like this you get a microscope put over your TEAM. Im so proud of these guys and am so grateful to have them with us as they have shown exactly what a team is all about This week they both transition back to the clinic and we get a little closer to normal

20.01.2022 Will be a different netball season with no seniors allowed but looking forward to getting amongst it again

20.01.2022 Looking forward to kick starting our new relationship with the mighty Quakers Hill Tigers See you tomorrow afternoon boys

19.01.2022 Mens Health Week June 15-21 As a man, a husband, a Dad, a son.... having a son, having brothers, uncles, nephews and mates ... some of these stats are quite alarming A boy born in Australia in 2010 has a life expectancy of 78.0 years while a baby girl born at the same time could expect to live to 82.3 years old. Right from the start, boys suffer more illness, more accidents and die earlier than their female counterparts.... Men take their own lives at four times the rate of women (thats five men a day, on average). Accidents, cancer and heart disease all account for the majority of male deaths. Whilst I feel as each generation passes us blokes are more open to going to the GP, to talking about our feelings with a close confidant and are overall more aware of our health .... these stats are still far too high. Lets work to change the narrative Its not manly to hide your feelings and get on with it Your not a pussy or over-sensitive for showing your feelings and voicing when you have been hurt Lets encourage each other to look after our physical and mental health, be open with each other ... and stop pretending everythings ok when its not. It doesnt always have to be ok ... and thats ok to say

19.01.2022 We are here to help

19.01.2022 Our elderly were once young, fit and strong .... leaders in their respective fields. See them as such ... and not just old and frail. If we are lucky this will be us one day so lets treat them the same way we would like and expect to be treated

18.01.2022 Finding out whats the best plan for your rehab is only half the issue, the other is then committing to make the changes required and working with your physio to help make these adjustments; prioritising the time into your normal schedule to allow for appointments and home routines challenging your body to adapt to where it needs to be being patient and trusting in the process... None tend to be easy ... but for those who Ive seen make the commitments required .... they never regret it

18.01.2022 Great comeback from the boys, down 24-14 with 14mins to go to roll over the top of them and win 32-24 BankWest Stadium GF vs Westfields Sports Leichhardt Oval next Wednesday

17.01.2022 Feeling the thanks Amy Sciarrelli We try our best to go above and beyond for our patients and hearing this feedback helps drive us to continue Well Done Team

17.01.2022 Happy Friday https://www.facebook.com/SportsCenter/videos/2345181389113803/

17.01.2022 In my opinion this is a no brainer 60+ .... and the plus is until we physically can’t we have exercised people into the 100’s so there is no age bracket we need to stop incase we do any damage... Why the older age group is the answer Elderly people walk with their legs further apart because they have reduced balance ... they use their hands to get out of a chair because they have reduced strength 1/3 people over 65 will have a fall EVERY YEAR in Australia Our natural curve is that this will continue and everyday life tasks become harder and harder until we can no longer do them Exercises to help with strength and balance are so important for us as we age as it keeps us living the way we want to for longer, maintains our independence and overall improves our QUALITY OF LIFE If in doubt ... go sit and chat with someone bed bound who is still mentally sharp ... not a happy situation. If you are in this age bracket or have a loved one who is, reach out as we are happy to help

16.01.2022 Thank you Quakers Hill Destroyers Great club to be associated with and look forward to many more years to come

16.01.2022 Your injuries and rehab don’t stop so neither do we We will have staff on leave throughout January so our hours may be reduced however we will still be here to help

16.01.2022 Champion of June Congratulations Reece for being selected as our first ever Champion of the Month Enjoy your voucher at The Corner Shop Cafe mate ... This initiative has been introduced to give special recognition to one person each month that has stood out Reece fractured a vertebrae in his spine in January following a fall from a roof . Since being cleared to exercise I have pushed Reece hard to improve his strength, core and overall physical capabilities Reece has turned up to every session with a great attitude and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with him Our Champion of the Month may be for: -committing to rehab despite juggling work, kids and a hectic life -working extremely hard each and every session -showing perseverance despite many challenges being thrown your way -etc, etc **unfortunately many will qualify but only one can be chosen - that doesnt mean we dont recognise and appreciate you too

16.01.2022 Does the room spin when you roll over, look up or turn your head? Have you been told you have vertigo? Been provided with Stemetil or another drug to simply manage the symptoms but it doesnt stop the vertigo from re-occurring? ... **Vertigo is dizziness associated with a rotational movement Eg the sensation of the room spinning. It is a symptom ... not a diagnosis** for example its like saying you have a sore shoulder instead of your shoulder is sore because you have a rotator cuff tear Maybe you have the most common cause of vertigo ... a condition called BPPV; BENIGN: not life threatening PAROXYSMAL: sudden, brief spells POSITIONAL: triggered by movement or postural changes VERTIGO: a sense of spinning/rotation If so, this is something we can quickly assess to confirm whether you have it or not, and more importantly, treat it usually with only 2 sessions required in total If you think you may have this, reach out to see if we can stop the room spinning for you

16.01.2022 If you have a spare 10 seconds our local soccer club home ground is in need of an upgrade. Lets do what we can to help them out by clicking on the link below. http://chng.it/S7R9HM9cyq

14.01.2022 Congratulations Belinda You’re welcome Amy and Team at F45 Training Quakers Hill, happy to support another local business

14.01.2022 We look forward to getting back out there and helping all of our local sports clubs soon

14.01.2022 Great win by the boys

13.01.2022 This year I have seen many people post a fracture or ligament sprain and a period of immobilisation be advised no physio is required afterwards ...... it’s no surprise that these people tried that and realised they weren’t walking, running or feeling right when they were more active Most had at least one of these deficits:... - Poor movement of that area - Poor strength or power - Poor balance - Poor jumping/landing technique all of which increase the risk of another injury If in doubt come and get it checked ... regardless of what you were advised. We can help you improve those deficits

13.01.2022 From on-site at the time of injury, throughout the rehab process until youre safe to return to the sports you love. We are here for you every step of the way

11.01.2022 Champion of July Congratulations Amanda for being selected as Champion of the Month Enjoy your voucher at The Corner Shop Cafe ... Amanda has been working with Kylie following extensive knee surgery last year. This has been such a long rehab process for Amanda and she has been so committed to her program, improving her knee control and is reaping the rewards with significantly improved walking Great attitude and well deserved

11.01.2022 Sometimes we need a shoulder to cry on or an ear to listen to us .... sometimes we need a mirror in front of us and told some hard truths Youre allowed to be down and angry when you have been dealt a tough hand ... .... but there comes a time when we need to stop blaming and start changing our attitude towards a more positive one In my day to day life as a physio I have been inspired so many times by people who have been faced with terrible situations who have such a positive attitude to get on with life and make the most of things. These examples range from: - a 20year old female requiring a total hip replacement - a young man in his 20s being involved in a car accident requiring both legs being amputated - a lady in her 40s who had a fall resulting in traumatic brain injury and life never being the same again. Its normal to be down when youre injured, even when its a small muscle or ligament tear ..... were all human and its only natural to be frustrated .... but whether its an injury or any of the other challenges life WILL eventually throw at you .... work through it, accept what you cant change and work hard to get the best outcome you can. Good luck. Always here if you need an ear ... or some tough love

10.01.2022 This is as true in life as it is in rehab Whether it was a bad injury, botched surgery, poor rehab etc .... as frustrating and unfair as it may be, it has already happened and nothing can be done to change the past. Its on you to get that fire in your belly and make the changes you can... Commit to losing the extra weight putting more load on your body start strengthening those weak areas make the consultation that will help you get back on track set small achievable goals that are realistic and works towards achieving them. Live and move on rather than dwelling on what has already happened. Accept whats happened, learn from it and control what you can to improve the current situation. Always here to help anyone wanting it

10.01.2022 A family that snack packs together stays together

09.01.2022 With 1/3 of people 65 years and over falling every year, balance training is a must for this age group Here are 5 examples of balance exercises. Select the one that makes you feel a little wobbly but dont need to keep touching the bench ... Over time, as that gets easier progress to the next one

09.01.2022 CHAMPION OF OCTOBER After 2 spinal surgeries this year Andy has worked so hard to get himself the fittest and strongest he has been in years We started gently and progressed to the point where by the end he worked his butt off each session and had such a great attitude throughout. Well done mate, it’s been a pleasure to assist with your rehab

08.01.2022 What a champ Perfect technique in assisting her too

08.01.2022 As winter sports come to an end, our support of local community sport continues

07.01.2022 Ankle sprains are common, however this leads to their significance often being underestimated: high recurrence rates (up to 15-30% within 2 years) persistent symptoms are common, even years after the injury ... We see so many people who injure the same ankle ... most have never had rehab or got to point of running and then stopped as they were close enough For return to sport you need; good ankle movement equal calf muscle strength good spring when jumping/hopping excellent landing technique and accuracy the often forgotten yet critical part If in doubt ... get it checked. One physio session is enough to assess for any deficits to then start your rehabilitation ... or give you the that you are safe to return to sport

07.01.2022 Hi Im Cheryls daughter. I would like to provide some positive feedback for Jason My Mum had her first hip replacement in March and after she was discharged from the hospital I arranged for rehab at home for my mum as it wasnt safe to go to a rehab hospital due to covid 19. I was so concerned about her going home to a two storey hose without any physio/rehab. My mum had her second hip replacement in July and every time I see my mum walking shes improved and getting bette...r every weekend when I see. I can see how far she has come after both her hip replacements. My Mum would like to say shes very happy with Jasons work, his a lovely young man and very professional. My mum was pleased to have Jason as her physio the second time around. I would like to also say thank you as it was a stressful time for me worrying about my Mums rehab and making sure she had the best outcome post op. When she first got home she was finding it hard to go up the stairs and with the exercises provided by Jason and physio shes recovering very well

07.01.2022 WINNERS 2020 NSW Schoolboy CHAMPS Congrats boys ... It’s been a pleasure to be involved with you again this year See more

07.01.2022 Does your pain change with the weather? What does the science tell us?... For 13 years I have continuously heard people reporting their pain being worse in the colder weather .... with some even claiming they can predict the weather based on how their body feels While more than 60% of people feel that their musculoskeletal pain is affected by the weather, there is actually no good quality evidence that such a relationship exists. I personally feel for some people there is a connection given how highly it is reported ... however I would not be unhealthily expecting your pain to start getting worse simply because we are heading into cooler weather either

07.01.2022 Happy Birthday Jas .... and Queen B

07.01.2022 Happy Birthday Kylie

07.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day to all you incredible Mums out there

06.01.2022 Thanks Guys We look forward to whatever this season brings for us all

06.01.2022 Looking at that ankle I was expecting a lot longer on the sidelines for Josh. 4 weeks of time along with 3 physio sessions and his back We still have some things to address to fully rehabilitate the ankle but bring on the semi-finals next week

05.01.2022 Its only fair that my boy gets his date times in too

04.01.2022 This lovely 81 yo has been in this contraption since February. It is an external fixator which holds the broken bones in place to allow them to heal in a better alignment. In this session we were spending some time outdoors which is good for both her physical and mental health especially after having been limited to inside for so long Our walking training was focussing on a step-through gait (that is stepping past the other foot as you walk ... like you normally would) no m...atter what support you need or what the problem is, its best to walk with as normal a walking pattern as possible she gets good news at todays appointment that this can be removed and she is one step closer to her normal life again

03.01.2022 This weekend is NRL Beanie for Brain Cancer Round A charity that will forever be close to my heart since losing my big bro Mick in 2018 Brain cancer kills more children than any other disease in Australia. It also kills more people under 40 in Australia than any other cancer. Yet very little is known about brain cancer, its causes or how to treat it.... I really hope that we can one day prevent familys having to go through what Mick and we all have. Beanies can be purchased at Lowes outlets or selected IGA stores as well as by ordering from the Mark Hughes Foundation website where donations can also be made. Funds from Beanie for Brain Cancer Round will be used for more innovation grants to top researchers around Australia.
