21.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that Yin Cao has joined the MOCA Committee; she brings valuable museological and curatorial skills to the project. Yin has been the Curator of Chinese Art at the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW) since August, 2011. Prior to that she was the Assistant Director at the Arthur M. Sackler Museum of Art and Archaeology at Peking University, Beijing, China, and a researcher at the University Museum of the National University of Singapore. Trained as... an archaeologist at Peking University and Harvard University, Yin has participated in several archaeological excavations in both China and Israel. She has curated several exhibitions, including the inaugural one at the Arthur M. Sackler Museum (1993). At the AGNSW, Yin has been responsible for overseeing 'A Silk Road Saga The Sarcophagus of Yu Hong' (2013); 'Tang: Treasures from the Silk Road Capital' (2016); and most recently 'Heaven and Earth in Chinese Art: Treasures from the National Palace Museum, Taipei'. It has an emphasis on the formation and development of MOCA, and our ongoing fundraising efforts.

19.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that two new directors, Brad Chan and Adam Liaw, have been added to the Board of the Museum of Chinese in Australia (MOCA). Both are well-known in the wider community and are a welcome addition to the MOCA Board which now has eight directors. Brad Chan is the CEO of the Banna Property Group, a 3rd generation family business. His grandfather, the late Bernard Chan, had a long association assisting Sydney’s Chinese community. Brad is the founder of H...aymarket HQ, an innovation hub that helps startups grow into Asian markets, and is the immediate past president of the Haymarket Chamber of Commerce. Adam Liaw is known to many TV viewers as a MasterChef winner and to others as a food columnist. However, he is also a lawyer, television presenter, producer and writer. Formerly Head of Legal (Asia Pacific) for Disney Interactive based in Tokyo, Adam has extensive experience doing business in Asia. 10.01.2022 The Georges River Council in Sydney's south recently voted to collaborate with the City of Sydney in the creation of our new Museum of Chinese in Australia. Councillor Nancy Liu put forward a Notice of Motion at the October 26 council meeting in support of the establishment of the new Museum of Chinese in Australia (MOCA). The Council meeting was addressed by Dr John Yu, and Councillor Craig Chung from the City of Sydney.
