21.01.2022 I just want to rant a bit about the lack of ethics this morning, having witnessed my wife's frustration at the 'dirty tricks' she encounters daily. Every one of these encounters builds the web's reputation as the world's biggest scam machine. How many of these things have you seen? 1) Free Download - and after downloading it, it's not free at all - you can't use it free, just download it! 2) Only $.... - and it looks good so you buy it, only to find a staged set of up-sells ...you need to make it do what you bought it for in the first place 3) Ads that are deliberately placed for accidental clicks to reward the advertiser - and that's not the company selling the product - it's $ for clicks scammers abusing Google 4) 'Offer Expires' in .. this is the 'evergreen' scam. The offer might expire for you but not for anyone else! Or the clock just rotates around and the offer restarts every couple of days 5) 'Free - just pay delivery' - LOL - the item costs $2 from China and the delivery is charged at $19.99. The very worst of the offers are, 'hand crafted by monks' and 'blessed with holy energy' for an extra $25!. That's quite a return on a $2 item. I am not exaggerating - I have seen this offer recently. This just 5 off the top of my head - there are scores more - what's your experience?

07.01.2022 But I didn't change anything! - I hear that sound after every Google algorithmic update! The chart above shows how the modest traffic of an eCommerce website was reduced by half in May this year. We know this site really well, because it's one we set up ourselves several years ago - 2016. We optimized it really well to sell Essential oils for the next couple of years and then, apart from updating products and the landing page seasonally, we did nothing with it. But still the... traffic came, and the articles we'd posted on essential oils, Feng Shui, religion and so on began to rank seriously well - it's good content so why not. As I said, we pursued other things and didn't add much to the content and the sales kept coming. Then BANG! In May 2020 Google updated its algorithm to favor other types of website and features, and maybe fresher content. Rankings plunged and sales plummeted. It had become a minor sideshow for us so we weren't really concerned and the data was very interesting. But what if the website had been a key revenue earner? The drop in sales would make anyone immediately regret not keeping up a regular SEO campaign to maintain and increase ranking across an ever growing range of keywords. It's not good enough to rank and run! Has this happened to your business website?

02.01.2022 I'm on day 2 of the #swishsaleschallenge with #ISRTraining run by #ryantuckwood. I've been in business a long while and this is the best sales training I have ever encountered.
