06.01.2022 Our wonderful 32 competitors will begin work on pre-recording their competitive entries for the 2021 Online Competition from where ever they may be in the world - Sydney, New York, Vienna, Moscow, Beijing, São Paulo and anywhere else in between. After the initial and confidential judging is completed in April of the Preliminary and Semi Final round videos, the top six proceeding to the finals will then pre-record their finals video entry. All the pre-recorded videos will be ...screened in July where everyone will find out who the winners are. The stakes remain high with over $160,000 in cash prizes on offer as well as a range of performance engagements and CD recordings to the winners. We would loved to have sent the Sydney Symphony Orchestra to the finalists' cities to record their concerto rounds, but alas this isn’t possible. Instead we have created a range of other ‘tests’ to keep the competitors on their toes and giving us their best pre-recorded performances. Read the new rules and see the prize offerings on www.thesydney.com.au
