22.01.2022 Online Education Session Update Further to yesterday’s updated online webinar schedule please find details below on upcoming important dates. Q&A sessions: our next session will be on Tuesday evening, 12th May commencing at 7.30pm with our World Series Sevens referees Amy Perrett, Damon Murphy and Jordan Way.... Education evenings: Our normal Referee Education session for this Thursday, 7th May is postponed. We have two more online education webinars scheduled for 2020, and it has been decided to shift May’s education topic back a month. If you missed the April session on Understanding and Applying U19 and are able to join one of the remaining sessions on the schedule, please contact Shane Barr. Accreditations: if you have received an email about, or have expired Accreditations (Smart Rugby or otherwise), please work through those online modules on the Learning Centre. As always if you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Mitch De Lorenzo or Shane Barr in relation to education evenings or accreditations.

19.01.2022 REFEREE PRESEASON TRAINING Apologies for the late notice.... Your NSWRRA Executive invites you all to participate in our Pre Season Training for referees. It will kick off on 18 November at Northbridge (Shore Playing Fields). Starting time will be 6.30pm. Parking on the left hand side of the car park. We are on E field. Phil Baird will be looking after the preseason training. This will go for 5 weeks from Wednesday 18 November to Wednesday 16 December, then resume on Wednesday 13 January 2021 to Wednesday 24 February 2021. There will be two phases in this 12 weeks. It will look like this: a) Phase 1 Preseason Training 18 November - 16 December 5 weeks of endurance work culminating in a 2.4km time trial on 16 December. The endurance work will be a variation of strength and conditioning ensuring that referees have enough energy to perform at their highest level. b) Phase 2 Preseason 13 January - 24 February 7 weeks of a mix of anaerobic and aerobic work aiming towards a Bonco Test on 24 February. Your Executive will fund the cost of training. We look forward to seeing you there.

10.01.2022 Super Rugby Debut It is with great pleasure and excitement that we are pleased to announce that Amy Perrett will be making her Super Rugby debut tonight when she takes control of ACT Brumbies vs Western Force in Canberra. Amy becomes the first female to referee a Super Rugby fixture.... On behalf of the association we want to congratulate Amy and wish her all the best of luck for tonight’s game, the first of many more to come.

It is vital that we get feedback of the membership in order to improve all aspects of officiating the game for both ourselves as match officials but also for those that participate in Rugby. Tom has worked hard over the past several seasons to get to this point and it is great to see his hard work being rewarded with a Shute Shield Debut.
