13.01.2022 Case Study: Saw a two and a half year old boy some time ago. He was not putting on weight. In fact his weight was in the lowest 3% for his age and he was suffering from a terrible night time cough. The poor boy had been misdiagnosed as having asthma and been given asthma related treatment. Unfortunately, no improvement. Upon review, I felt there was evidence this boy had Obstuctive Sleep Apneoa (OSA). ... My diagnosis was proven to be correct and the appropriate treatment was given. When I saw the boy again 4 months later, his weight had risen from the bottom third percentile to be in the 25th percentile and the night time cough had disappeared. The boy was now sleeping through the night as well.
