24.01.2022 Assalamu Alaikum Dear Brothers, Sisters and Youth, ALMA is organising a motivational speech by Dr Zachariah Matthews for youth members. The topic is The role of youth in shaping the future generation. The event is scheduled to be held in person as most of the youth didn't have an opportunity to meet each other for a while due to Covid-19 restriction. We hope that the event will help the youth to learn and understand their role in the community.... Date : 28 November 2020 Venue : 33, Gelibolu Parade, Auburn (Turkish Welfare Association Hall) Time : 4:45PM (After Asr) to 7:00PM. (Details are in the flyer below) Due to Covid-19 restrictions only a limited number of seats will be available. Youth members, please confirm your participation in advance. 16.01.2022 Assalamu Alaikum. ALMA Youth Brothers are pleased to announce our first Quran Competition! This competition will encourage our youth to engage with the meanings of the Qur'an through a detailed study of one Surah (Surat Al Balad in Juz 30). We hope to harness some of the momentum from the month of Ramadan and encourage an ongoing commitment to understand the words of Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala. ... How it Works The competition is open to all boys aged 12-20. Those wishing to participate should click the registration link below. Prize money worth up to $150 is on offer. The competition will test participants' detailed understanding of Surat Al Balad. Once the registration deadline has passed, competitors will be emailed a set of resources In Shaa Allah, including translation, written Tafseer and two videos (~1hr total). Participants will need to familiarise themselves with this material. It will not be required to have memorised the Surah, but it will certainly help. On the date of the competition participants will be quizzed via video call. The competition will take place on Saturday the 13th of June at 6:00pm In Shaa Allah. Timing may be subject to change based on participant availability. The workshop is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to prepare a winning job application and the potential to be successful at an interview. The workshop will be conducted by Sis Sithy Zareena Razeen, who has nearly four decades of experience at a management level in Sri Lanka and Australia and is hoping to share her experience of the recruitment process. Date : 05/12/2020 (Saturday) Time : 6:00PM to 7:30PM Venue: Regents park community hub 1, Amy street, regents park Due to the size of the hall and Covid-19 restrictions, a maximum of 10 participants can be accommodated.
