09.01.2022 Team work on a Saturday Today is all about rehabilitation of the knee and hip. In this video, we have an excellent exercise to improve strength and coordination of the hip, knee and ankle The goal of this exercise is to prevent the front knee from deviating in (rolling in) when completing the static lunge. The gluteus minimus and medius are responsible for preventing this. Give it a go and get those glutes working .... www.s3c.com.au
08.01.2022 Australia has a strong coffee drinking culture. We're good at making it and consuming it. In fact, the average person consumes around 200mg of caffeine a day. Which is about the same amount as a double espresso or a large long black. Coffee has loads of antioxidants which are great for health. It may also protect us against some chronic diseases (more data needed). Just be careful if you have stomach ulcers (it increases stomach acid), have anaemia (it limits iron absorption around meal time), or you're pregnant or trying to get pregnant (sometimes debated). For athletes, it can also improve concentration and performance. Now go and enjoy your morning coffee!
04.01.2022 Here is a great rotator cuff exercise called a scaption raise. It is a useful exercise in shoulder impingement (subacromial pain syndrome). We are sticking below 90 degrees in this video to limit shoulder range and reduce potential irritation to the shoulder (early rehab exercise).
