24.01.2022 New 5.0-star Review: "I see Alexa Callaghan for my ongoing foot and leg pain issues, she has truly gone above and beyond, being so supportive and understanding with my ADHD related needs by emailing myself directly after my appointment to ensure I follow up with the recovery plans and exercises. She was also able to refer myself to an nearby Sydney based osteopath to check if my spinal posture could also be affecting my ongoing foot and leg pain via loading my weight distribu...tion incorrectly.I also reccomend purchasing the stool for stretching ones Achillies, Alexa can show you how it works and you dont have to buy it from SSP but if you struggle to stretch on your own, it really helps. For reference my pain has been as such that during the worst periods I walked with a cane and when mild feels like low but constant inflamed discomfort. Its not normal and if you feel in pain on your feet remember to get them checked!" See more

08.01.2022 Summer is upon us and we have noticed an increase in heel pain patients! Often, patients mention 3 of 4 colleagues in their office are complaining of heel pain If this is you, here are some simple tips to help relieve pain: gel heel cups (from the local chemist) - research has shown that adding cushioning under the heel with help to alleviate some symptoms of heel pain. stretching calf muscles EVERYDAY - tight calf muscles account for over 96% of lower limb condition...s, especially heel pain due to the fibres that run from the Achilles into the plantar fascia. assess your footwear - footwear should be supportive with a firm heel and should not be able to be easily twisted, like wringing out the water of a wet towel. Often people find a small heel (1-2 inches) will provide some relief from heel pain (this comes back to tight calf muscles). Research shows that some heel pain conditions (E.g. plantar fasciitis) will self-resolve within 12 months. This is not the case for everyone and thats a long time to put up with pain! #SydneySportsPodiatry has many tools they can implement to address your heel pain, most importantly focusing on the ROOT CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM - not just band aid solutions. www.sydneysportspodiatry.com.au 1300 474 306 See more
