20.01.2022 There is something about Adriana. Im not sure if its her passion or knowledge or a combination of both which has made Adriana such a talented Pilates instructor. As a full disclaimer I met Adriana when she was 15 and I was so captivated by her persona and desire to help others that I knew one day she would be part of our team. Roll on 7 years she is now a Qualified Behaviour Therapist and Pilates Instructor and currently studying her masters in Psychology and im pleased I groomed her for all those years . You see to be a good therapist it takes more than an understanding of movement, it requires the skill to understand people and how help them to move outside of their fears to a place where they feel strong and empowered. 18.01.2022 SST is setting up an essentials care package collection point at Sydney Sports Therapy, Oatley West. The packages will then be delivered to those in need in the local area. I would like to invite as many people as possible to help! The packages should include essentials like toilet paper, bars of soap, tissues, hand sanitiser, canned food, rice, pasta, biscuits, tea and coffee, and wet wipes. Please seal the package within a bag so that items dont get mixed up. And why not ...add a hand written note to let people know the world cares. Also, diapers for those with babies should there be an indication of need. We do not have a freezer or fridge so I kindly request that these items are not donated. Space is limited and we will also have to factor the risk of an increase of people in the clinic so the collection point may likely be our parking space at the back of the clinic. If you would like to volunteer to help deliver items please reach out. If you are a local business and can donate or offer a similar service please do. If you are an at risk person or would like to nominate a person please get in touch via private message. Its essential that this incentive starts this week if we are to help people in time before a possible lock down. Any items not used will be donated to a local charity or school/ care home

We are an Allied Health Professional who complete a 4 year University Degree and are accredited with a governing body called Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) Most sessions with an Exercise Physiologist (EP) are not just a typical workout. But dont be fooled - depending on your goals they will still be challenging ... An EP specialises in exercise therapy and lifestyle interventions to improve, manage or prevent specific conditions. For example, a client presents with a lower back injury; an EPs role would be to assess their biomechanics, movement biases, strengths/weaknesses, and physiology. This information will help us to develop an individualised treatment to improve that clients individuals needs and goal. Exercise Physiologists can treat acute to chronic injuries and diseases. They can also specialise in strength and conditioning for sport performance and rehabilitation. Treatments range from exercise programs, relearning motor control, stretching and manipulation techniques with tools such as massage balls and rollers. We have been closely monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation and responding appropriately in line with government directives and our professional colleges and association guidances. All appropriate measures have been enforced to maintain a high level of hygiene and sanitisation. ... The following changes are now in action: - All classes will be reduced from six to three people. - Clients must bring their own water bottles and towels and remove them at the end of class. Any items left will be disposed of. - Treatment rooms will be disinfected after each consult. - We ask all patients and clients not to arrive early for their appointment. - Sanitiser is provided and must be used on entry and exit of the clinic. - Please do not bring any non essential family or friends with you for your appointment.
