24.01.2022 A story of how TACFIT began - science-proven to improve even elite athlete performance!

24.01.2022 It can feel stressful and overwhelming during an event like the outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and we can all be affected differently. Keeping active and moving is a proven way to protect your mental wellbeing. DOWNLOAD this free PDF fact sheet to help you stay active and healthy. https://bit.ly/2QTbGpN... More than 75 per cent of mental health issues develop before a person turns 25. TACFIT is a recovery based exercise program designed specifically to address high-stress situations and increase mental and physical resilience.

21.01.2022 Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) is often sold at a premium. How do you buy the best one? 1) Buy olive oil only in dark bottles/metal cans. Exposure to light damages quality olive oils. 2) Check for the longest expiry date or most recent batch date. This indicates freshness. From that date the oil can only deteriorate.... 3) Buy a good brand. More expensive isn't always better, but a good indicator. 4) Buy smaller bottles and use within 3 months of opening. Oxygen that gets into a half-used bottle starts oxidising (damaging) the oil. 5) Store your olive oil in a cold dark place. Olive oil is temperature sensitive, so leaving it next to your stove or on a window sill is going to reduce it's health benefits. If the pallet of oil was transported to the supermarket on a hot summer day, the oil goes rancid. Here are the best olive oils commonly sold in Australia based on quality testing by CHOICE: https://www.choice.com.au//a/extra-virgin-olive-oil-review

18.01.2022 We love the gym and training our clients Some reminders during this time of SARS-CoV-2 / COVID-19: 1 Bring a fresh towel to each session 2 After entering our gym, wash your hands with soap for 30 SECONDS 3 Use hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes as needed . We have secured extra stock to ensure the gym stays clean as possible . 4 Cough into your shirt , not your hands, arms or into the air .... 5 Stay home if you are unwell , have travelled overseas recently , or have family that have . No cancellation fees apply during this period. We would be happy to reschedule you in 2 weeks . 6 We will minimise body contact and staff will be washing hands often . If at some point we are unable to train you in person , online training and support via TXT / chat are available. Stay healthy and keep training! The best you can do is keep your immune system strong and follow government guidelines.

16.01.2022 We can make it through this crisis together. Make sure you keep exercising to stay healthy and your immune system strong. Just follow some simple guidelines in this article. Remember: sitting down all day is much more risky to your health than coronavirus. Take precautions AND exercise.... https://bit.ly/2xed1Av

16.01.2022 While Australia (and our gym) remains shut during COVID-19, we consulted with gym facility experts and how they are preparing to re-open safely in consultation with government health departments. Thank you to the amazing presenters and business owners that have shared their experience from other countries! Sydney TACFIT maintains a proactive approach to client safety and will be implementing many of the ideas from the conference. ... Existing clients will be receiving TXT messages from us describing the changes and upgrade to our services. We continue to offer 1-on-1 PT sessions in an outdoor environment at Hyde Park while maintaining physical distancing and a no-contact policy. We are registered with the City of Sydney Council and Fitness Australia to provide qualified outdoor training and abide by numerous professional Codes of Conduct.

14.01.2022 Did you know that TACFIT has a huge range of programs? All built on the same guiding principles to restore mobility, optimise health, and improve performance. We will help you navigate and choose the right one for the goals you have. On the vertical axis is relative intensity - how hard a program is compared to other programs. For a beginner with zero background in physical movement and health issues, even IntuFlow may feel "intense". Whereas for an athlete, FlowFit and Clubb...ell programs may be easy in some parts, but still provide a challenge at higher levels within. And for those that love a challenge, Mass Assault, Commando, and TACFIT26 are high intensity programs that will push you. On the horizontal axis is how much foundation is required to participate - the more physical and mental strength you already have, the easier it will to progress towards the right side. Programs on the left are more accessible, programs on the right are more complex AND depend on having developed the skills from programs on the left. The colours show how much variation there is within a program. Green means the entire program starts and ends with low intensity, making it accessible to everyone. Yellow means the program has a moderate range. Red means the program scales from easy to very challenging intensity, requiring and developing a high level of fitness. Lastly the size of the circles indicates the modalities a program covers. Most are specialised small circles, focused on developing skills with one tool (eg bodyweight mobility, yoga, clubbells, kettlebells, dumbbells). Large circles require more equipment and combine multiple approaches to provide greater challenge and adaptability. Thanks to Daniel Markert, Director Of Operations at California Military Department, for making this chart!

10.01.2022 Fats are an important part of a healthy diet, even when aiming to lose weight! To improve your nutrition: 1) Eat less processed food and takeaway meals, these often contain bad fats. 2) Add healthy fats to your home prepared meals and salads.... When buying packaged foods, look at the nutrition label. Choose items with more UNsaturated fat, less saturated fats, and avoid TRANS fat. Processed foods often use cheaper fats that are not healthy and are labelled "seed" or "vegetable" oil to make them seem more "natural". Look at the ingredients list for "hydrogenated fat". These have a long shelf life, and make foods taste sharper/crunchier with a nice bite while maintaining moisture, but are very bad for your health. Here's a nice list of healthy oils and their benefits: https://www.choice.com.au///oils/buying-guides/cooking-oil

10.01.2022 Short, practical mental health exercises with expert facilitators available on-demand for frontline healthcare workers. www.covidcalm.org

09.01.2022 TACFIT pioneered the concept of recovery-based training: you only adapt and improve as fast as you can recover. If you push beyond your body and mind's ability to recover, you end up DEGRADING your performance as you develop physical RESTRICTIONS that serve to PROTECT you from immediate injury. Over the long term, these poor adaptations lead to chronic pain and injuries.... Smart athletes train optimally and recover optimally. Getting the balance is often the hardest challenge. If you recover well, your body and mind grow stronger and more resilient. Feed your body and mind what it needs through: * adequate SLEEP - most people need 6-8 hours of quality sleep, if you skip this everything else doesn't really matter * sufficient REST between training sessions - periodise programs so you're not overtraining a part of your body or mind * quality NUTRITION - eat to fuel and repair your body to feel great * understanding your biorhythms and chronobiology for optimum TIMING of food, sleep, and exercise * performing specific active RECOVERY exercises - the aim is to recover your lost range and to remove the brakes on your performance * managing mental STRESS - to reduce cortisol release and inflammation in your body to maximise longevity TACFIT provides science-proven (not "science-based") methods for optimal recovery through decades of application with elite responders to restore health and performance.

02.01.2022 We love the fun of Animal Flow movements and workouts. Here's a few university studies with the evidence around how Animal Flow can increase your mental performance and muscle activation.

01.01.2022 Keep moving while isolating. Wake up with joint mobilisations in the morning to activate your body. Practice simple things like good posture while working from home. End with static stretches before bed.
