25.01.2022 Got so many selfies from ISO and virtually attending all these epic Instagram live parties! And if Melbourne needs to continue doing them Im more than happy to pay to get in. We gotta support the music and creative industry as much as we can right now. Lets keep it alive even if its from inside. Plus if your like me and usually try and sneak out the club at 12am cause you want burgers and bed you can just log off when your partied out haha

24.01.2022 Been feeling super hopeless and my mental health has been getting the better of me seeing all the pain and destruction happening around Australia right now. But I am heavily reminded that I am safe, I have shelter and food and water and I may not have much money to donate but I do have my hands. We will be holding a painting workshop at my shop and studio @tropicastoreandstudio 100% of the proceeds from this workshop will be donated to @wireswildliferescue for their bushfire ...emergency fund. I put together this artwork today for us to re create at the workshop and we will also be selling prints of it online at tropicastoreandstudio.com where 100% proceeds will also be donated to @wireswildliferescue I have not been creating enough lately and I new I had to help more somehow and there is just so many ways people can do things, art is such a powerful medium and you dont even have to sell and donate the funds just sharing your art can be a great way to educate people on the crisis happening here at the moment. This workshop will be held on Sunday the 19th of January in Gordonvale and is open to ages 6 and up. We will share discussions about the fires and explore our feelings and use art as a way to de stress, express and show support to the victims of the bushfires. 24.01.2022 I feel almost speechless putting together the words to describe how devastating this is. Our land is on fire and it feels as if our hearts are burning along with it. I would like to firstly say my deepest condolences to the Aboriginal & First Nations people of this land, they are deeply connected to this land and I cant even imagine how painful it must be seeing it burn like this. They live in communities where the fire damage will be catastrophic towards their well being an...d and I am so deeply let down by our government and leadership who should of been looking after this land/protecting it and listening to the constant warnings and traditional methods of reducing the fire risk and honoring this place the First Nations people cared for, for so many years before us and still do. I would also like to give my condolences to everyone who has lost their lives and loved ones not only human lives but so many animal lives as well, and also for everyone who has lost their homes and properties. We are all in a lot of pain right now and we need all the support we can get. If you look at my last slide you can see ways to donate and give some relief. 20.01.2022 This is me when I lived in North Carolina in 2011, I went to the University Of North Carolina Greensboro, I had a hip hop segment on the school radio with my friend Shaye and I got to bump J. Cole @realcoleworld whenever the fuck I wanted to. You can see the joy all over my face. We also bumped a lot of @9thwonder @rapsody @jamlarecords @littlebrother_nc and other NC artists. The hip hop joy I had at this time of my life was EVERYTHING! I need to bring this inspiration and joy back

19.01.2022 Particularly to men out there, its ok to show your emotions its ok to be vulnerable sometimes its ok to cry, I know we are all scared of being hurt, but you must trust that when someone loves you they will not use it against you, not see it as a weakness, but an opportunity to love you more to see the beauty of your humanity. Our emotions our empathy are what make us who we are.

17.01.2022 Earlier in the year I worked on a collab with @anneescaphe where I got to bathe in a tub of her amazing Vietnamese coffee. Biggest coffee high iv ever had we had the chance to create some beautiful photos taken by the goat @silvemoosh @themutfakdelight I always feel like when I work with brands that I love and respect or when doing something like a campaign its great to be able show you more than a product. When me and @silvemoosh chatted about how we could collab with @...anneescaphe being a Coffee product and me being an Artist we thought about what inspired us about each other and a big thing was the fact that we were all women led businesses and wanted to see other women win. So the idea was to do this beautiful shoot but also interview me as an artist and business owner and share some of my story and what inspires me. We thought this would be a great way to colloborate but also uplift & be open and talk about journeys. Because we have all been on one to get where we are today and they will continue and should be celebrated & shared. Life has a magical way of taking you down paths you didnt know you needed to walk and this interview and shoot was defiantly something that ignited a fire back in me to make sure I was following my passisons but also loving myself while doing so. The 2020 climate has been hard for a lot of people and some important shifts have happened and people have had to do a lot of adjusting and learning and also reflecting and a lot of it has been very important but also very traumatic. Its a reminder for me to live with your truth with your heart and to constantly check your self. I have no idea what next week will bring for us all but I do know that I hold so much love in my heart and for all the down days a moment of kindness always gets my heart pumping again. For DIY on how to do your own check my IG TV being forced to slow down has defiantly ignited my flame to be more creative especially when so many people are facing and dealing with so much, its reminding me to be thankful for what I have and for my health and its reminding me when I feel exhausted or down or like giving up that I have ways to push through that. Art is most defiantly been such a powerful force in this pandemic and I just want to thank all the artists out there sharing your work and keeping us motivated, entertained & inspired.

15.01.2022 My mother and I will be making a bunch of free up-cycled fabric face masks with filters inside which are reusable and washable for Melbourne residents in lockdown. As more news comes out daily we are seeing that face masks may be mandatory when leaving your house for essentials and we want to be able to supply people with a sustainable and reusable option that they can reuse especially if they cant afford to keep buying them or there becomes another shortage. The first image... is just an example of some of the scrap fabric we have that we can use to make the masks from and we will work through all the scrap fabric we have until we run out... if the need is there. I have added an application to my bio just so I can gather peoples addresses to send the masks to, and an idea of how many we need to make. 15.01.2022 I started painting again for the first time in a year. Its so weird how much you can love something and spend years of your life studying it and getting degrees on it and building your foundation as career on something and then life steps in and you just cant even bring your self to pick up a brush. I have been scared. Scared that I am not able to anymore scared that it wont feel the same. Scared that people wont like what I create, that Im not good enough. But when it c...omes down to why I started to paint in the first place was not for any of those things I did it because it made me happy. It got me out of my head, it took away all of my fears and expectations and just let me be in the moment and explore my creativity and it wasnt up to others to dictate on how worthy I was as an artist because I didnt care. I want to focus on it being about that again not about anyone else. Paint for me!!!!!!! Life is short and its a ride and we are all different we all deal with things in our own ways and sometimes if we are lucky after being lost, we can find our way back to things that make us happy. Looking at this brings me back to living in Brooklyn when I was so on my grind creating art everyday being so inspired and proud of myself. 13.01.2022 2020 has been a huge roller coaster for the whole world. It really forced me to take a step back and look inside my self more. Realize I wasnt truly happy, I wasnt loving myself and I was not appreciating my beauty from the inside out. Relying on others to give me confidence and purpose and struggling to truly just love myself for me. Ive been really trying to focus on building my spirit and self-love up and reminding myself that I am enough. We all need to be celebrated f...or our inner beauty because thats how our beauty on the outside shines through. I have not had my photo taken in a long time and this was a big moment for me, a reminder that I am beautiful & I can celebrate that. I can show my beauty through my actions, if I feel beautiful from the inside when I look in the mirror thats what Ill see. My soul. You deserve to celebrate yourself to feel beautiful and to love your self unconditionally. You are enough and we are forever evolving and turning into more empathetic more selfless (but still self-loving) & more loving versions of our selves and that all starts with loving yourself first. 2020 has been a rough ride and we still have a lot of work to do but firstly I just want to encourage you to try & work on loving your self because once that is possible the things we can do to help others is truly magical. Literally when I saw this beautiful piece of art that is this photo... @the.cwolf amazing!!! The first thing I thought and said was this should be on the cover of Vogue, so seing that exact photo in Vogue just fills my heart with so much joy. @everyday.like.this Sharing your story on a platform like this is just so magical and beyond beautiful. S...eeing so many women of colour in this issue made me actually want to buy Vogue for the first time since I was maybe 14 lol. Diversity matters. Representation matters and I know as a white person I certainly dont wanna see white faces on everything I want to see every colour and hear all stories & prospectives from every different culture or background. I admire and love you so much @everyday.like.this for always advocating for this. So this issue was so magical.
