25.01.2022 A message from Gerry ... OMG, a year ago already. What an amazing evening, I often think about it with with great fondness and appreciation. And it has been an adventure. certainly had not expected to still be in Australia, on a wheat and sheep farm, but here we are. And grateful. Hope all my Threshold Choir friends are well and happy, and HEALTHY. I miss you all Barbara Vickery Susie Nelson-Smith

19.01.2022 One of the conversations I enjoy most with the patients I visit is about the visions they see. The other day I was with a gentleman who shared that he has been ...seeing people in his room, mostly men. He is not afraid of them, they seem like they are there to help him feel less alone. I asked if he talked to them; he told me he didn't know what to say, so we discussed things he could ask them. He asked me if this meant he was dying soon. My response was that while yes... he is dying, I did not believe they are representative of the time frame. I told him I thought that maybe being near death allowed him to be more receptive to their presence and they knew that, which is why they were there. This seemed an acceptable answer to him. I saw him again the following day and he told me that he started to talk to them, they didn't say words, but he felt their answers, one of which was that he was safe and not to be afraid, which he welcomed. Then he proceeded to tell me that his two dogs who had passed away came to see him. A tear rolled down his cheek. He said they jumped on his bed and curled up next to him. I would like to think that when I am near death, my dog Jack will curl up next to me...

17.01.2022 Feels so good indeed!
16.01.2022 Greetings, , I want to give an update from our choir on our new model of rehearsal and bedside singing during this CoVid 19 pandemic. We will be attempting to rehearse using technology on the Zoom platform. We realise that in doing this we will experience plenty of glitches, like timing, yet we are viewing it as an opportunity to master it, and continue to gather to make kindness audible for each other, and our community in an agile, online, appropriate, social distanc...ing way! No doubt we will have a lot of laughs as we aim to sing together in this way - but the ear training will be remarkable! We promise to be patient with ourselves, the technology, and each other. We will make ourselves available to sing to the community upon request once we feel the singing together sounds like singing! We will be then able to invite you and your loved ones to a Threshold choir serenade. Meanwhile, keep washing your hands and take enormous care
16.01.2022 "Watching a peaceful death of a human being reminds us of a falling star; one of a million lights in a vast sky that flares up for a brief moment, only to disap...pear in the endless night forever- Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross You are not a falling star to only shine briefly, but a comet that lights the sky at intervals to remind us of your light in the sky, Dr. Kubler-Ross. You keep shining in this dark times and still helping and giving hope wherever you are, for the benefit of those who are somehow lost in the woods with their grief.
16.01.2022 We were devastated when we learned that Emily Levine recently passed away. At TED2018 last April, the legendary philosopher-comic reflected on having stage IV l...ung cancer and why she didn't fear death. This is what she had to say about the gift of life. 15.01.2022 Fascinating and beautiful
14.01.2022 Our beautiful musical director Trish Watts is holding one of her brilliant workshops about what it is to sing for people at the threshold of life on 14 June. The suggested sliding scale fee of between $20-$40 is incredible value. The details are below. See you there!
14.01.2022 Last night a few of our Committee members attended a very illuminating webinar held by Gondwana National Choirs on the change COVID-19 may create for choirs. For us, whose primary purpose is to Make Kindness Audible and sing by the bedside of those now in the high risk category for coronavirus (elderly or immunocompromised) this is an important consideration about how we can continue to sing for those on the threshold of life. In the meantime, we are still singing every ...week on zoom. We have it pretty much nailed due to the great work of our beautiful Trish Watts who continues to teach us jewels in song of light, clarity and peace. If you want to join us on a rehearsal or would like us to sing for you or your loved ones virtually (as simple as by phone even), send us a private message. Wishing you grace in this moment.

05.01.2022 Happy Valentine's Day to everyone . . . a magnificent way to celebrate is to help provide the folk who visit Wayside Chapel with some clean, dry undies and other clothing. It's been very wet and soggy out there and Wayside is currently out of dry clothes as the demand has been so high. If you can, please donate and help someone be dry and comfortable. The Sydney Threshold Choir love to sing for our friends at Wayside every term. If you see us there please come and say hello <3
