Sydney Trail Series events are not large in number and are not confined to a restr...Continue reading

09.01.2022 2020 SPRING SERIES UPDATE We know many of you will be keen to welcome in Spring and the warmer weather it brings! We'd like to take this opportunity to provide you with an update regarding our Spring Series of STS. Given the ongoing situation with Covid-19 in Sydney, we've decided that in the interests of the safety of our competitors, staff and the wider public, that we will not be proceeding with the September or October events. We will reassess the situation again in Octo...ber, and if the situation at that time with Covid 19 allows us to proceed with the event without any compromise to safety, we are prepared to present our November races based at St Ives Showgrounds which are scheduled for Sunday 22nd. If the November races are able to proceed, we will let everyone know at least a month prior, and provide all relevant Covid Safe requirements to everyone involved to ensure the safety of all participants and staff. Thankyou for your understanding and support in these challenging times, and until then, keep safe and keep running!

09.01.2022 Post race alterations: to avoid congestion at the finish line and ensure social distancing is maintained, we’ve had to make a few changes. Fresh unpeeled whole fruits will be available at the finish line (along with hand sanitiser), however we’ll be skipping the post race BBQ. Our attendants will help you with touch free water refills. We won’t have any coffee service or sponsor stands this month. Ample parking is available at the event hub to help you avoid car pooling. ...We usually love a good cheer squad, but for now, we respectfully ask you to leave spectators at home if possible. We will have a race presentation, please remember to maintain social distance during the ceremony, and if you’re not eligible for a prize we encourage you to head off after completing your race. The race format is a little different for now, but the welcoming camaraderie remains the same!

06.01.2022 Who’s missed organised events? We sure have and we can’t wait to welcome you back to the trails in a couple of weeks for some friendly competition! Registration is open at www.Sydneytrailseries.com.au

06.01.2022 Sydney Trail Series 22 March is now CANCELLED After a range of Government announcements about restrictions of mass gatherings last Friday, on Monday this week we announced that Sydney Trail Series was going ahead, and introduced a range of measures to ensure the event met and exceeded the guidelines and that we ensured runners safety as a result of COVID-19. We intended to run the event within guidelines for such events set out by government, and had the necessary approvals... from NSW National Parks and Northern Beaches Council who had reviewed our updated procedures. Since Monday we have seen COVID-19 progress in an exponential manner doubling every 3 days, which means that by Sunday Australia could potentially have close to 2,000 diagnosed cases. In this rapidly evolving environment, even though we are still complying with the current guidelines, we believe that cancelling was the right thing to do as everyone should be going above and beyond to do whatever possible as a community to prevent the further spread of the disease. It’s a disappointing way to end our Summer Series, but in the big scheme of what’s happening throughout Australia and around the world, and the hardships people are going through, its a very minor issue. We trust you understand and support this decision. Hopefully some of you will get out and enjoy a run on the trails this weekend, keeping your social distances of course. We will be in touch with all registered runners with information about refunds soon. Please stay safe and support each other during these challenging times. SYDNEY TRAIL SERIES TEAM (An appropriate little meme here to help us through in these unprecedented times)
