19.01.2022 Premier Joseph Cahill challenged NSW by saying If we in our lifetime did nothing more than express our love of the arts by providing a building worthy of them, even when names are forgotten, the building will always remain as a testimony to what was done in the year 1954 by a group of citizens for the encouragement of talent and culture. ~ ~ His idea translated into the Opera House, one of the most beautiful and famous buildings on our planet. ~ ~ SydneyWay is our generatio...ns opportunity to create something meaningful at Circular Quay. ~ ~ The Opera House trust was established to manage the day to day business of running a working arts centre and an international tourist venue. SydneyWay will use the same structure of trust to insure the people of NSW have a high quality, well run, publicly owned icon at the Quay. ~ ~ credits 1. @dreamcasaproperties 2. SydneyWay See more

The first whites visited the area in 1841, and Broken Hill was founded in 1883. ~... ~ This picture depicts the Broken Hill Heritage Listed Trades Hall, built from 1898 to 1905. ~ ~ SydneyWay will act as a gateway to NSW, boosting areas of historical importance, such as, Broken Hill. ~ ~ To find out more about SydneyWay or to donate follow link https://bit.ly/2yJN3mk . 09.01.2022 We love this vertical forest high-rise building in Milan It features 20,000 square metres of trees, shrubs, climbers and perennials that spread along and up every floor of the two towers of 27 storeys! All that greenery gobbles up unwanted carbon dioxide of 30 tonnes a year, and produces around 20,000 kg of oxygen every year. Buildings like this are becoming more popular as cities look for ways to become more green and healthy without expanding outwards - - SydneyWay inclu...des vertical gardens by transforming unused parts of the Quay infrastructure with native plants to cover the exterior columns, uprights and railway expressway girders. Our plan is eco-friendly, healthy and in-line with leading green trends around around the world - - To support SydneyWay visit https://bit.ly/2yJN3mk and donate now. See more

03.01.2022 A brief history of immigration to Australia! Did you know that since 1945, when Australia’s immigration department was established, seven million permanent migrants have settled in Australia? The only country that has a higher overseas-born population is Saudi Arabia which permits foreigners to work but does not offer permanent residency or citizenship. SydneyWay celebrates a multicultural nation, provides a beautiful gateway to the country for new arrivals and showcases ou...r unique cultural diversity. 02.01.2022 The original inhabitants of the Sydney Local area are the Gadigal people. They were dependant on the coast and area that is now called Sydney Harbour for providing most of their food. The Gadigal people were one of seven clans living along the same coastal area who spoke a common language and have become to be known as the Eora people. ~ ~ SydneyWay recognises the importance of the Gadigal people and aims to embrace their rich culture and unique way of life by teaching childr...en, tourists and visitors to Circular Quay about their history. ~ ~ Transport for NSW has announced the upgrade of the Circular Quay precinct, we believe it is fundamental that the traditional owners of the land are included and highlighted in the renewal project. ~ ~ To find out more about SydneyWay or to donate now visit https://bit.ly/2yJN3mk ~ ~ Image: Unsigned portrait ‘One of the NSW Aborigines befriended by Governor Macquarie’ (Mitchell Library, State Library of NSW - ML 696) regard from @visitpaddington See more

02.01.2022 Circular Quay then and now. 160 years ago Circular Quay began to take shape with the first timber piles being driven into the mud flats. Five decades later the Quay looked like the first image and was an important place to unload sailing ships from England. It was the embarkation point for cargo and passenger ships, wool clippers, government and private boats. - - The second image depicts Circular Quay today. It is now the central multi-storey terminus for ferries and cruises..., rail and bus services and a venue for a range of restaurants and shopping outlets. However, part of the Quay is forgotten. The space below Cahill Expressway stands like a tombstone over Sydney. Transport for NSW is calling for ideas to renew the Quay. Our plan SydneyWay encompasses outdoor gardens, interactive learning, and both Indigenous and modern art and culture. - - We need your help to make SydneyWay a reality.
