25.01.2022 Hi everyone - there is marathon on at Homebush today which may impact access to Homebush and parking at the hockey centre. If your team is playing at Homebush please allow plenty of time to get to your game and if the p4 hockey car park is full or closed to hockey please use p3 and get your ticket stamped at reception or Just Hickey as normal. We dont know what time the event will clear. Apologies for the late notice. SWHL only found out at 8.50pm this morning. We were not noticed in advance by SOPA.

21.01.2022 Just a reminder that the Easter Show started yesterday at Homebush and runs through to 23 April 2019. Parking in the hockey car park (P4) is subject to availability. If P4 is full SOP have told us to go to P3. Due to this event the ticket machine will NOT be at Just Hockey. You will need to go to the Quay Centre reception (old State Sports Field 2) to have your ticket validated. Remember your validation is for a maximum of 4 hours beyond this it will be the normal rate ( $25 flat fee) unless you move your car in and out of the car park. For those playing at Homebush please pass this information onto your players, team officials and umpires. Allow yourselves extra time to get to your game. Happy Hockeying

20.01.2022 SWHL will be running a Preseason Competition again in 2016. Dates will be 6th March, 13th March, 20th March and 3rd April (no match 27th March Easter) The approximate cost of the competition will be $400 plus GST. Exact cost will be advised.... Please download this Nomination Form, and return it (details on the form) prior to Wednesday 24th February 2016 and direct deposit of $100.00 is required in the SWHL Bank Account.

16.01.2022 Our country is currently experiencing the worst bushfire season in history. SUHC and UNSW would like to do our part. On the 8th of February 2020, SUHC and UNSW intend to host a charity fundraiser at the Bruce Pryor Hockey Field at Lidcombe. The day involves a social mixed hockey round robin, invitational matches, BBQ, raffle and other fundraising activities where we will be collecting donations. Registration to play is min $20 donation per player, with the opportunity for peo...ple to chose a chosen charity, either WIRES or Australian Red Cross. We were hoping to share the day with the broader hockey community and was wondering if this something we could promote through the SWHL social media platforms. Sue is our current fixtures convenor and is long servicing member of the SWHL committee. Sue has been a member of innumerable Masters Teams; a panelist for the Masters Advisory; a recipient of an Australian Sports Medal and a Female Masters Player of the year. ... This recognition of all Sues achievements and contribution to the hockey community is very much deserved.

13.01.2022 COVID-19 - SWHL COMPETITION SWHL Executive has met this morning and made a decision to postpone the start of the season until May. We have had discussions with State Sports Centre around our bookings and with both Hockey Australia and Hockey NSW. This was a difficult decision but in light of the current climate and recommendations and actions of both Hockey Australia and Hockey NSW we felt that this is the correct decision in the circumstances.... All being well we will push out our bookings and/or run with a shortened season for both Masters and Opens Competitions. This is a very fluid environment and we continue to monitor the situation. 12.01.2022 Hi everyone I hope you are all staying safe. Please see below an update from the SWHL Chairperson Robin Gorton. Thank you. COVID-19 Update I hope that you and your families are well and adjusting to the increasing health and safety restrictions implemented to contain the spread of COVID-19.... This week should have been the commencement of the 2020 hockey season for teams in SWHL. As you are aware SWHL made a decision to delay the start of the competition until May. This however looks like being pushed out further due to the rapidly evolving situation. SWHL Committee acknowledges the uncertainty of the current situation but assures you that it is committed to organising a viable competition as soon as possible. To this end we have checked with the various venues we use, regarding the possible extension of the season. Obviously this planning will be based on clearances and assurances being given by the governing bodies. I promise to keep you informed and involved in decisions regarding the competition. We reiterate the importance of following all necessary measures and recommendations in preventing the spread! We will be playing hockey again, it will just take some time. 04.01.2022 Masters division 1 & 2 tonight - reminder that the Rugby League State of Origin is on tonight. Parking will be in P4 or P3 if P4 is full. Please allow plenty of time to get to your game particularly if you have the 6.30pm or 8pm time slot. Carpool with team mates or catch public transport if that is an option for you.

02.01.2022 Important information for parking at Olympic Park for hockey over Easter. The Royal Easter Show starts today and ends on Wednesday 19 April. Normally Sydney Olympic Park events parking will apply during this period. See below. Players can park in P3 & P4 however this will be dependent on availability ( ie first in best dressed). There is no designated hockey only parking - well be competing with those attending the show for parking in P4 and P3. ... Parking validation will be at the Sports Centre Reception on Level 2 ( for P3 & P4 only ). Apparently Just Hockey will not have the ticket machine for major SOP events. I suggest you get someone (manager etc.) to collect all parking tickets for the team and get them stamped at once particularly if you are playing on OP. Also a 4 hours free validated parking applies, after this time it will be paid parking at the flat rate of $25. SWHL
