17.01.2022 The Rotary Action Group for Peace is an action-driven group of Rotarians, Rotarians’ spouses and Rotaractors working together for the purpose of advancing peace and preventing wars throughout the world. The Rotary Action Group for Peace was formed in 2012 as a group of Rotarians, recognized by Rotary International, focused on providing a network and resources to further the peace and conflict resolution work of Rotarians around the globe.

Next up is Maya from Israel! Maya is an Israeli peace activist who works for promoting the two-state solution. Maya worked for various peace-focussed NGOs, such as "Peace Now" and "Geneva Initiative" as a project manager and has extensive experience as a facilitator of Israeli-Palestinian dialogue groups. In recent years, Maya also worked in the Israeli Parliament as a political advisor for MPs Michal Rozin and Mossi Raz. Maya has a BSc in Politics & Government and Management, and currently, she completes her dual Masters in Peace and Conflict Studies & International Relations. On the upcoming months, Maya will intern in the UN Peacebuilding commission Support Office (PBSO), as well as in ANTaR QLD organization that promotes the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

These Peace Poles will be the focus at various events in 2021 to commemorate the ideal of peace among all people of the world. Young people will be encouraged to discuss what peace means. See more

01.01.2022 Sydney Rotary's Community Peace Award Play for Lives The recipient of the 2020 Rotary Club of Sydney Community Peace Award was the Play for Lives campaign. This campaign has been mobilising our professional athletes off the bench and into the thousands of essential volunteer positions left vacant in the wake of the Coronavirus. Former Socceroo and now community cohesion activist Craig Foster accepted the award on behalf of Play for Lives at the Sydney Rotary Club 's special Peace Day event today.
