21.01.2022 Entries have now closed for the SYIA. Thank you to all the students who have entered. We have nearly 100 students entered this year, and over 140 section entries! There will be a lot of students performing for the first time, which is very exciting. 20.01.2022 Next Saturday come down to Riverlinks between 9am and 4pm to see students competing, and from 5:30pm to see the winners perform for the $500 overall winner. Tickets for the Gala Final from the box office before 5:30pm. Adults $10.

10.01.2022 Hot off the presses - the certificates have been printed and are ready for Saturday! Who's name will be on the big prize this year?!
07.01.2022 A lot of the planning is done, now we work through printing the program and the certificates. The program will be released early this week so you can see when you will be on and who you are performing with. The sections will start as follows: 1. Senior Piano (16/19s) from 9AM - Auditorium 2. Junior Piano (U12M/U10/U13/U13duets) from 11AM - Function Room... 3. Brass/Woodwind/Percussion (all) from 11AM - Auditorium 4. Voice (all) from 1PM - Mezzanine 5. Strings/Guitar (all) from 1PM - 151 Maude Street, Chapel on Maude. You can register any time from 8:30am, it is best to register half an hour before your section commences. Entry to the sections during the day is free, come and see some of the other performances! The Gala Final is on at 5:30pm, come and see the awarding of the $500 grand prize! Tickets at the box office before the show, $10 adults, $5 students. 04.01.2022 Congratulations to the SYIA Young Instrumentalist 2nd place winner - Liesl Parnell. What a big day the Parnell family had Saturday :) Liesl played an unaccompanied Violin work called Kaprys Poliski by composer Bacewicz.

01.01.2022 Congratulation to our third place winners - two third place winners! As the performances were all of such a high quality the adjudicators had difficulty separating the performances. Congratulations to Laura Dickie on the flute, who performed a beautiful Sonata by composer Donizetti. Congratulations to Charlotte Parnell who sang an exciting piece called Journey to the Past from Anastasia.
