25.01.2022 This guy , be this guy || Accupuncture treatments are not only aimed at magically disappearing your achey back and knees , unclogging your bowels , or turning your migraines into just a bad memory ... There is an especially important aspect of ongoing treatment that is about maintenance. About keeping your body and mind functioning at its best, despite the onslaught of physical , chemical , and mental stress ; that are just the inescapable aspects of modern life. The key to happiness, and remaining the coolest, calmest, cat about, is to keep on top of the onslaught of the daily nonsense called life . Keep on top of it and come zone out with me for an hour, kick back into that parasympathetic state of being, and leave as cool as this lama in sunglasses.

19.01.2022 Look Familiar? Sounds about right? NO! Although it is alarmingly common, period pain does not need to be a part of your normal I see so many clients who suffer from period pain, irregular and intermittent periods, or cycle/hormonal imbalances, and contrary to popular belief- period pain is not necessarily normal. Acupuncture has long been used as a treatment for period pain and menstrual irregularities in women who suffer from a range of various unpleasant monthly symptoms that are sometimes very easily combatted. Ladies, make a change
18.01.2022 Too Real, who else? Alarmingly, 90% of women suffer at very least one symptom of PMS each month, whilst around 50% of women are suffering from a range of unpleasant and upsetting symptoms and changes in physical and mental states in each menstrual cycle . This is an unfortunate statistic, however the truth of the matter is that your hormones do not have to control your life . Whilst PMS and PMDD symptoms are common, you do not need to accept them as y...our version of normal. Questions? 12.01.2022 || CARBOHYDRATES || Love them or hate them, I have got news for you: These guys are important ... With low-carb diets becoming increasingly popular, it is important to be aware that your hormonal and reproductive health may actually rely on this key macronutrient Low carbohydrate consumption and a drop in caloric intake has been hypothesised to disrupt the bodies hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, which consequently can result in a drop in womens sex hormones and cause a disruption or absence of menstrual cycles . This is known as hypothalamic amenorrhea. And if you have lost your period as a result of a low carb diet then this is especially important information for you . It is also important to note that this information will not apply to everyone . There are cases where a low carb diet will actually improve the condition of your menstrual cycle. This will be likely it you are insulin resistant (or if you were before starting a low carb diet). If you have lost your period, get in touch to discuss how we can work together to help you regain a regular cycle. I now offer free 15 minute phone consultations to discuss exactly these sorts of concerns- and to allow for any questions to be answered in a fast and convenient way . #womenshealth #periodhealth #menstrualhealth #hormonerepair #fertility #naturalmedicine #acupuncture #acupuncturesydney #monavale See more
11.01.2022 || INFERTILITY AWARENESS || A peaceful reminder that sometimes our well intended words and questions, can unintentionally hurt others. Working with women and sub-fertility, one of the things I have become acutely aware of is how often women (or men and couples) are asked: so when are you having a baby?!.... Though this is often a well-meant inquiry of interest, or perhaps even awkward/forced small-talk. This question can often cause distress to anyone suffering with issues in fertility and conception, or those with reproductive conditions. Though often we mean well, it is always helpful to be reminded, that we might never really know what someone is experiencing or what difficulties they may face in their life. And because of this it is always kind to tread carefully with our questions and our communication. Kindness costs us nothing, and it is always possible. Awareness is a bit trickier, and often elusive, but once found holds the power to create change. by @fertility_diary2018. #infertilityawareness #acupuncture #herbalmedicine #acupuncturesydney #sydneysnorthernbeaches #reproductivehealth #womenshealth #hormones #balance #sleepdisorders #menstrualhealth #fertility #fertiltyacupuncture #wellbeing #healthandwellbeingsydney #naturalmedicine

07.01.2022 You? || How are sleep and hormones related? || Of all the things that hormones regulate in our body, sleep is one of the most important.... As without enough sleep our body struggles to regulate mood, immunity, appetite, blood pressure, and many more functions that are integral to our overall wellbeing. Furthermore, disturbances in sleep patterns are an invaluable indication of the state of our bodies hormonal balances. Which is of particular importance in my work with fertility and womens reproductive health. Sounds familiar? Lets learn more about what might be going on for you, and how balance can be restored to your life.
06.01.2022 Researchers confirm the effectiveness of acupuncture for the treatment of cervical spondylosis, a painful disorder caused by intervertebral disc degeneration. T...he term cervical spondylosis refers to general wear and tear of the discs in the cervical spine. Often with age, the spinal discs degenerate and osteoarthritis ensues. The acupuncture point GV14 was determined effective across multiple studies for the treatment of cervical spondylosis. 06.01.2022 Fertility Tip no.42: * Keep It Cool Because an increase in stress hormones has been shown to interfere with our bodies natural production of sex-hormones, which in turn interferes with our bodies reproductive organs and processes. One of the mechanisms by which acupuncture treatments improve fertility and conception rates is by treating underlying stress factors and by returning hormonal balance and reproductive function to the body ... 06.01.2022 Literally No, actually LITERALLY. I had to coach myself through this last night, when looking at my 10th slice of pizza like it was the worlds next messiah , despite the fact that my stomach had already reached capacity five slices ago (due to previous feast of donuts ), and that now food was compressed the entire way up my upper digestive tract So, my point is that I understand. I understand that even though awareness over the importance of gut health is absol...utely inescapable these days, I still understand that some days you just don't care about that. Whether you were feeling particularly sensitive and needed a litre of ice cream to sit and watch the notebook on repeat. Or if it was just simply your cheat day, and before you started your week of diligent health over again- you just absolutely needed to get in those four Big Macs, three Nutella donuts, an entire pizza, and the three packets of m&ms (because who can choose between peanut, crunchy, and minis?!). Regardless of the why, I do understand that sometimes we ignore those protesting gut feelings and we push our digestive system to the limits. And that while it is usually a few hours of glory and joy- a pure bliss that is unsurpassed by any other worldly experience, I also know that the next day the aftermath of bloating, cramping and god knows what else can leave us a little slow and regretful. But fear not my little piglets! next time you know that you're going to have a big blow out, or the next time that you wake up with an army of donuts growing inside your intestines, come by and visit me and I will sort you out in a way that will be similar to deflating a balloon Sounds like fun, no? #butreallyitwillbe #sofun #andsogentle #treatyoself #acupuncture #isitinyet #health #balance #painpaingoaway #restandrestore #restandrelaxation #relax #unwind #livehealthy #wellness #naturalmedicine #energyhealing #herbalmedicine #IBS #bloating #digestion

03.01.2022 LOVE this article! Written by an OB-GYN, a woman of science, explaining how traditional medicine and acupuncture helped her to fall pregnant at a time when she was unexpectedly struggling with infertility. Working with individuals who are struggeling with infertility, I often encounter stories just like this one. And the fact of the matter is, that sometimes, some of us, need a little help in our fertility journeys. And thats ok. ... As an evidence based practice, acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, view infertility in a unique way, assessing each patient individually- providing tailored treatments that seek out the root cause of an individuals condition. Thank you to Dr. Clark for sharing her experience of her journey through infertility to fertility, and the vital role that Acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine played in her positive outcomes.
03.01.2022 Acupuncture is the ancient therapeutic technique of inserting very small filiform needles into specific points along the body, in order to influence the bodies energies. Acupuncture points access points of energy along the meridian pathways of our body. In order to treat various manifestations of dis-ease. Acupuncture can be a catalyst for dramatic and positive changes. If you have any questions about what acupuncture is, or how acupuncture works, feel free to contact me.
03.01.2022 Natural Labor Induction || Acupressure has long been used as a natural method to induce labor in post term pregnancies. And the best part? You can do these at home yourself. Traditionally used techniques include gentle application of pressure to each of these four points, for about 10 seconds each point, then repeat the cycle a few times. Simple, easy, and effective A breakdown of the points are as follows: (From left top picture, to right top picture, and l...eft bottom to right bottom) 1) Bladder 32 point- located Norway between the spine and the dimple above your buttocks, where you should be able to feel a small depression of the sacral foramen under your finger. 2) Large Intestine 4 point- located in the muscle between your thumb and pointer finger, and can be found at the highest point of the muscle when you press the finger and thumb together. 3) Bladder 67 point- located on the outside edge of the little toe, right next to the outter left-bottom corner of your pinky-toe nail. 4) Spleen 6- located on the inside of the lower leg, just next to the border of the shin bone, four finger-breadths above the inner ankle bone. Please note that the acupressure points above are only indicated for POST TERM PREGNANCIES, when you are already in labor and want to aid contractions, or when the amniotic fluid has already broken. Additionally, it is always important to talk to your health care practitioner before considering if any treatment is appropriate for you. See more

01.01.2022 How's the serenity
01.01.2022 || Zi Gong || This point is located on the lower abdomen, lateral to the midline (approximately four finger breadths lower, and four finger breadths away from the belly button) ... This acupuncture point has been used traditionally in conditions of infertility, reproductive disorders, and irregular menstrual cycles in women. Traditional Chinese medicine belief states that this point is to be used in order to strengthen Qi (the bodies vital energy), to regulate menstrual cycles, and to balance dysfunction of reproductive and hormonal functions. In an understanding of modern health, this can be translated to say that this point has been traditionally used to increase cellular energy (especially important in egg quality), and to regulate hormonal imbalance in order to treat conditions such as menstrual irregularity (anything above or below a 28 day cycle), PCOS, endometriosis, ovulation dysfunction, poor egg quality, and more. #acupuncture #herbalmedicine #acupuncturesydney #sydneysnorthernbeaches #reproductivehealth #womenshealth #hormones #balance #infertility #menstrualhealth #fertility #fertiltyacupuncture #wellbeing #healthandwellbeingsydney #naturalmedicine See more
01.01.2022 Don't Fear the Needle
01.01.2022 Couldn't agree more! || Often in treatment I find that my most important task with my patients is education. To build an understanding and awareness of the fact that treating dis-ease, and treating symptoms, is only the tip of the iceberg in our journey together. Because really, our ultimate goal is to dig deeper, find the root of dis-ease, and begin to facilitate evolution, new habits, and to build a system of wellness. As humans we are born to thrive Don't let anything stand in your way.
