19.01.2022 Some of the most common things we are seeing in patients who are working from home are shoulder and upper back tightness, neck pain and headaches. Does this sound familiar? When we are working at desks and screens that aren’t set up ergonomically it can be really detrimental to our posture. Your osteopath may be able to help with pain management during this time and most importantly offer advice on how to enhance your at home work set up.

18.01.2022 Hi Diamond Creek patients. We are patiently waiting while the holes on Collin St are being filled in. Today parking is looking a little tricky with lots of roadworks. We recommend coming a little earlier and parking on the opposite side of the main intersection or on a side street and taking extra caution when walking into the clinic. The Symmetree Team.

14.01.2022 A lot of our patients have been working from home for more than half the year and we have certainly noticed. A less than optimal desk set up at home can impact our posture significantly over time. In particular our spine can be susceptible to strain at the 'transition zones.' More specifically, you may see pain in the parts of the spine where our curves change- where the neck turns into the mid back , where the mid back meets the lower back and where the lower back meets our tail bone. Does this sound familiar? Your osteo is here for you.

13.01.2022 A rare moment in the clinic this morning when we were all waiting for you lovely people to arrive. Book in with us at www.symmetreeosteopathy.com.au

12.01.2022 We have our last weekend appointments available for this year THIS SATURDAY. Follow the link to secure your booking online. https://symmetreeosteopathy.com.au/

12.01.2022 This week is Osteopathy Healthcare Week and Osteopathy Australia have released some pretty eye opening statistics. This one amazed us- 37% of Australians accept pain instead of acting on it. "Acting on it" could be as simple as a call to your local osteopath to see if they could help. At Symmetree we offer FREE 10 minute consultations in the clinic or via phone call if you are ever unsure.

12.01.2022 Did you know we have a Chinese Medicine Practitioner who shares our space in Diamond Creek? Check out the lovely Alana at Lunar Chinese Medicine for more information.

11.01.2022 Working from home? Living everyday at home? Has your exercise routine drastically changed? Has your daily routine drastically changed? This leads us to ask the question, how is at home isolation affecting your physical well-being? COVID-19 has put into perspective what the most important things in life are - our physical health, mental wellness, a roof over our heads, food on the table & loved ones.... We take for granted how much movement our body achieves by simply commuting daily to work, walking to your colleague at the other side of the office, heading to/from the car for school drop offs, chasing after kids at museums and playgrounds & the obvious gym/pilates workouts. As a result of self isolation, practitioners at Symmetree Osteopathy & Muscle Joint Bone are reporting an increase in cases associated with poor posture & lack of mobility. Chronic back pain, acute neck pain, general stiffness and recurring headaches are common symptoms & conditions that our practitioners are currently treating on a daily basis. Contributing factors to postural dysfunction: Lack of awareness of correct posture Sedentary lifestyle -- sound familiar? Occupational demands Joint stiffness Decreased fitness Muscle weakness Muscle tightness Poor core stability Poor ergonomic work-stations -- how is your at home work set up? Unsure if you can leave your house for an appointment with one of our Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors or Podiatrists? Yes you can! We are an essential service & driving to one of our clinics for a treatment with your practitioner is legal & allowed. Appointments: Please note our clinics Symmetree Osteopathy & Muscle Joint Bone are affiliated & receptionists can manage appointments at either clinic. Call or book online for an appointment. 11.01.2022 There's only 6 weeks left until Christmas can you believe it? This is your friendly reminder to book your consultations in advance to avoid disappointment during our busy holiday period. You can see our whole calendar of availability online at www.symmetreeosteopathy.com.au

11.01.2022 A friendly reminder to wear your mask to your upcoming appointments to avoid refusal of treatment. We are doing everything we can to maintain a safe environment for your consults.

07.01.2022 This year has been full of highs and lows and we are so thankful to everyone who helped us safely keep our doors open during a global pandemic. We celebrated our efforts together as a crew (here with the Doreen clan) and are so grateful when looking at this amazing team of staff and practitioners we get to work with every day. See ya later 2020!

04.01.2022 As osteopaths we often get asked by our patients whether we can treat conditions beyond the spine. In short, YES! Your osteopath is trained to assess a wide variety of conditions from fingers to toes and a whole lot in between. Speak to one of our osteos today to see if they can help you out.

04.01.2022 We have 4 osteo appointments left for tomorrow (Saturday) morning. Perfect for those who are still required at work during the week or would prefer to visit the clinic when it's a little more quiet. Book online at www.symmetreeosteopathy.com.au

04.01.2022 Guess what, your osteopath has ALWAYS been washing their hands countless times a day. Although our smiles may be hidden for now and our hand hygiene is even more impeccable than ever before (if that's possible!) we are still here to care for you safely. Book online https://symmetreeosteopathy.com.au/book-online/

02.01.2022 We have a range of self massage equipment at our clinic that your practitioner can help you utilize for your specific complaint. We find this to be an extremely effective way to take your treatment away from treatment. (Or you could give it to someone you love this holidays ). Check them out next time you're in!

02.01.2022 Whilst the gyms are closed you may be making use of the minimal equipment you have at home, which is great. Like most repetitive tasks, our body begins to adapt to the movement, sometimes for the better- muscle growth and increased strength and sometimes for the worse- injury. If you’re starting to feel your body straining during your home workouts it may be time to see your osteopath.
