14.05.2022 Sorry about my previous post after two weeks in a quarantine hotel I lost track of wha month we are in! So we are open for massages from the 12th of July and yoga classes start back on the 19th of July. OH LA LA. x

03.05.2022 We are back from France in case you were wondering where we disappeared! Yoga Classes are starting back from the 19th of June as before; early morning Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 - 7.15am, Thursdays 9.15 - 10.30am & Saturdays from 8am. As I re-grow and rejuvenate the classes I will expand to an early evening class, a meditation and pranayama based class and introduce a beginner course for new people to yoga. Lucas will be open from the 12th of June and is currently taking massage bookings. He is offering 20% discount on all treatments in the clinic for July. I look forward to seeing my dear students again and hopefully reaching out to some new one. With love and blessings, Emily

06.04.2022 Acharyas Yoga Retreat is happening from next Friday 19th of July - 21st of July... I have just one spot left. It will surely be chilly but we will warm you with knowledge, practice and community. 18.01.2022 Emily is a traditionally trained Hatha yoga instructor who studied in both India and Sydney. She aspires to stay close to this classical lineage particularly f...rom her teacher Acharya, where yoga is taught as a whole complete system using breath work, postures, relaxation and meditation. Sometimes her classes become a little dynamic and could be described as hatha flow and other times they follow a more inward approach where postures are held a little longer and there is more focus on the breath. She always offers plenty of options in class so the practice is available to all levels. You can experience Emily’s classes on Saturdays at 10am

09.01.2022 Learn the Art of Yogic Breathing Pranayama Workshop With Emily Curtis ... We are offering a workshop dedicated to discovering Yogic Breath, using Pranayama techniques. You will deepen your yoga practice by developing greater insight into the benefits of Prana (our life force/vital energy) and explore how it is used to energise, cleanse and heal your physical body, energetic body and mind. ‘Pranayama is the fourth limb or stage of yoga for the quest of the soul. It is the rhythmic control of the breath.’ This 3 hour workshop will introduce several pranayama breathing techniques, including a short asana practice (physical yoga), guided relaxation (yoga nidra) and meditation. We will develop an understanding of the use of bandhas (energetic locks) used in the yoga postures and in the breathing excercises. We will also learn to cleanse the energy channels of the body (nadis), ridding the energetic body of un-wanted blockages. You will also experience a deeper connection and understanding of the chakra system which is stimulated through the various breathing and cleansing techniques we will learn. The Hatha Yoga Pradipika states; ‘Where there is mind there is breath, and where there is breath there is mind.‘ If you can control the breath, you can control the mind and vice versa. The whole landscape of yoga starts here. HATHA YOGA PRADIPIKA and most texts talk of SIDDHASANA as the final pose in yoga. If you can sit comfortably in SIDDHASANA then the fun really begins. This is also what PATANJALI means in his YOGA SUTRAS when he says - 'Sthira Sukham Asanam' (Patanjali Yoga Sutras) What Patanjali means in this sutra seated posture should be steady and comfortable is easier said than done. It takes dedicated practice done daily to get to sit on your arse'ana' comfortably. NAMO NARAYANA

02.01.2022 I had forgotten all about this very simple technique for balancing the breath in our nostrils when one or both nostrils are blocked: 'PADADHIRASANA' is an asana... that harmonises the flow of prana inducing a state of balance between the left and right nostrils thus effecting the balance in the left and right sides of the brain, the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system and energies in our subtle body that correlate to the sun and moon. It takes only a few minutes to create this balance by crossing the arms in front of the chest, placing the hands under the opposite armpits with thumbs pointing up and firmly pressing into the underarms. Breathe deeply. This and other ancient techniques will be taught in our workshop this sunday at 10 - 1 offering an insight into the subtle energies at play in the body and how we can restore balance between the circuits of these energy currents to improve our overall wellbeing. 01.01.2022 SPRING CLEAN HATHA YOGA WORKSHOP A Cleansing Workshop, utilising several yogic cleaning techniques of pranayama, asana and kriya.... With Emily Curtis Saturday September 19th, 1-4pm Over the afternoon we will concentrate on twisting poses which are especially beneficial for cleansing and massaging the internal organs, we will practice several pranayama’s to cleanse the sinus passages and oxygenate the cellular system as well as practice several kriyas, specific cleansing exercises for the digestive system. Our afternoon will finish with a meditation and a cleansing tea. It is advised that you eat a small simple and early lunch 2 hours before the workshop.
