09.01.2022 #Shell Yeah! Tomorrow is #WorldTurtleDay! Did you know that the Raine Island National Park (Scientific) is home to the largest remaining green turtle nesting ...site in the world? What better way to celebrate than a turtley-awesome video from a big nesting season at Raine Island last summer with an estimated 64,172 turtles gathering in the waters around the island in December! The Raine Island Recovery Project team had a lot of counting to do on the island too, with 12,000 turtles on average coming ashore each night to lay their eggs.
