24.01.2022 Outback Storms: January to March is the monsoon season in the Northern Territory. Storm fronts often appear late in the afternoon and throughout the night. I love watching filming and photographing the wet season. 22.01.2022 Arnhem Land trip to Bulman: It was great to catchup with traditional owners and friends in Bulman again. Our families history in the region dates back to the early 1970’s. Dad was buried on neighbouring Mainoru Station by traditional owners (in their cemetery). This clip shows the local Buffalo population chilling out in the shade with one returning from a mud bath. An albino Buff can just be seen in the middle of the herd. The future looks bright, with the Mimal Rangers and Traditional owners working together to provide a positive future for young and old. 21.01.2022 Kakadu and Jabiru Futures: The Bowali information centre is receiving a few touch-ups. Parks Kakadu information centre has moved temporarily to the entrance of the Crocodile Hotel in Jabiru. The team is always helpful and can assist any traveller to plan their holiday in Kakadu. Enjoy your trip. 21.01.2022 Outback to Olympics (c): Following on from strict form wide grip pause bench (demonstrated last week), Justins road to three Olympics included bounce bench press to simulate shot-put specific positions and power. At 43 Justin still moves 200kg well, especially considering he is training in a back yard gym while working with disadvantaged children and raising a family. It’s important to look after our physical and mental health throughout our lifetime. Everyone has different goals and hobbies they enjoy, however all humans were meant to move (exercise) and explore the outdoors. Have a great week. Copyright 2020. 20.01.2022 Synchronising with Nature: The 5 Aboriginal seasons of the Jawoyn region, takes up 50000 square kilometres surrounding the greater Katherine region. The Katherine river has risen to 10m and the Red Apple (bush tucker) is usually soft and ready to eat in January (season of Jiyowk). #jiyowk #january #5seasons #jawoyn #katherinent #northernterritory #seeaustralia #australia #tourismaustralia #seasons #food #bushfood #apple #wetseason #bridge #tourism #2021 #aboriginal #firstpeople
17.01.2022 Crocodile Diaries update (30th August to 6th September). The aboriginal season of Gurrung (mid August to mid October) in Kakadu National Park is a great time to view crocodiles, like the one in this clip. In the 1/4 and 3/4 moon phases crocs can spend a lot of time just chilling out on the bank. As we approach the full moon, bigger tidal movement should see more crocs hunting mullet at Cahills Crossing from Tuesday to Sunday this week (depending on baitfish activity). Feel fr...ee to share this post with someone you know is interested in the natural world, or travelling to Kakadu. 17.01.2022 Crocodiles and Cars at Cahills Crossing: Around 10-15 crocodiles turned up today. Lots of tourists were traveling back from Arnhem Land. I didn’t see any crocodiles catching mullet. The weather was perfect and it was great to see families outdoors. 13.01.2022 Synchronising with nature: In Kakadu we are transitioning from the aboriginal season of Wurggeng (mid June to mid August) that delivers cooler weather, to the hotter season of Gurrung (mid August to mid October), which signals the arrival of the build-up. Photo reference: The WillyWeather App is a useful tool to have on your phone (willyweather.com.au). 12.01.2022 Life in the Outback (Kakadu and Jabiru): This clip show Kakadu Cultural Tours at Cahills Crossing after finishing the Arnhem Land section of their tour. I wish all tourism operations the best of luck for the future after a very hard year where Covid turned up. Its very important for business to survive this tough period as tourism will be the foundation of Jabiru and Kakadu’s future. I look forward to being a part of the regions future. 12.01.2022 Planning training routines in your 40’s is different to when you are 20. Training, planning and achieving goals has always motivated us. Helping others on this journey has delivered a lifetime of satisfying work. Justin doesn’t train for super human strength to compete at Olympic level anymore, however he has still retained very good strength levels in a backyard gym while raising a family, working and studying. Balancing this mix in the 21st century is an art form (the systems of life). #lyndonssystemsoflife #lifeisforliving #personaldevelopment #balance #training #weights #backyardgym #family #planning #fitness #goals #nttourism #tourismnt #topendtourism #seeaustralia #dokakadu #seekakadu #olympian #lyndonssystemsoflife
10.01.2022 Systems of life in the outback (and crocodile diary): Crocodiles have been hunting mullet at Cahills Crossing, while cars are crossing from Arnhem Land into Kakadu National Park and anglers have been chasing Barramundi on boats. 10.01.2022 Fishing tackle shop promotion 3: Rod and Rifle is an institution in Katherine. In this photo Trent is helping me stock up for an Arnhem Land trip. My family has been buying gear from this shop since the early days. The team has always helped out everyone I’ve sent there and they have a wealth of knowledge to help anglers with. I’ll be calling into the shop in two weeks time, on the way down for another Arnhem Land adventure. 08.01.2022 Lyndon’s crocodile diaries: This crocodile has the look of death in its eyes. He always eyeballs you while passing close to the boat. Many different crocodile characters show up at Cahills Crossing each year. It will be interesting to see what this guy does in the future. Animal behaviour is cool to observe and film. Now is a great time to check out these crocodiles at Cahills Crossing in Kakadu National Park. #crocodile #saltwatercrocodile #lyndonscrocodilediaries #cahillscrossing #kakadu #kakadunationalpark #northernterritory #seeaustralia #jabiru #reptilesofinstagram #reptiles #nature #animalbehavior #nttourism #tourismnt #seekakadu #dokakadu #mytopend #mytopendlife outback
08.01.2022 Crocodile Tracking: Parks Kakadu track crocodiles by using GPS trackers fitted to the back of the neck,as seen in the second clip on this post. 07.01.2022 Lyndon’s Crocodile Diaries: Dude on the back of a 4wd Crossing Cahills. Around 20-30 crocodiles were counted up and downstream of Cahills Crossing on this days. 03.01.2022 Wet season storms in the Northern Territory can deliver heavy rainfall and high winds. The monsoon season stretches from January to March. In Kakadu, it’s the aboriginal season of Gudjewg and in the Katherine region it’s the season of Jiyowk. They have six and five seasons a year, not the standard four seasons. 01.01.2022 Small town country and community: The family has s great night watching the Katherine Rugby 7’s last night, with the Honeybadger donating his time to coach the Ringers women’s team and play a cameo in the men’s division where he managed to score a try in the last few minutes. It was a great night out for the katherine community. Well done to everyone who was involved.
