24.01.2022 A FEW FACTS ON HELMS Despite false claims from protestors, the timber operation at Helms, near Nannup, does not include any areas of old growth forest. ...The majority of the area covered by the operation is dieback infested, which was identified as part of the extensive assessment process required prior to approval. The total area covers 741 hectares, of which 299 hectares is excluded from harvesting as it has been flagged for conservation. The remaining 442 hectares will be harvested for valuable timber products, from an expected yield of 10,000 tonnes of jarrah sawlogs. The harvested logs will be delivered to nearby Parkside Nannup mill, further stimulating the local economy, before being used to create high-value products such as flooring and furniture components. To ensure there is no waste, the entirety of the resource is used, with lesser-quality or residue logs being used for other products. Helms has been harvested before and will be selectively harvested now, then completely regenerated as it has been in the past. Any identified habitat trees at Helms will be retained during this harvest and sustainable forest management practices ensure this is adequate habitat refuge for wildlife during these temporary disturbances (as you can see in the attached photos). The logging contractors who work on these operations are local people working for a local, family-owned business. They DO NOT deserve to be put in danger, or have their equipment vandalised and damaged.

The company which has been in forestry for 100 years has a $10 million expansion plan for the SW native forestry industry and plans to create dozens of WA jobs over the coming months.

01.01.2022 GIACCI'S FIRST ORIGINAL 1966 AMERICAN MACK The 1966 Mack R600 Flintstone was purchased new from the factory in Allentown USA. Paperwork from Mack factory was ...issued to Giacci Bros This truck was delivered via Ship from Allentown, Pennsylvania, the USA to Australia in 1968. The family company Giacci takes ownership of their first truck & trailer combination Truck No.5 Before commencing work the Mack was branded the original Giacci colours; green white & black. The irony Truck No.5 was Mario Giacci's personal truck he operated every day. In the transport industry equipment needs to be updated in keeping with growth and industry technology. - Post 2000’s "Previous Owners" - Supposedly the Mack was carting grain for several years in the Young Area, NSW by a company called Jones Transport The truck was licensed on road until 2006 A farmer had taken owner ship and painted it dark green. We imagine it was put to work doing general duties around the farm. The truck is then auctioned off at Western Traders were a company by the name of Melrose Cranes takes ownership. Melrose intentions were to restore the truck back to original condition. However this did not happen and the truck remains parked inside their shed for several years collecting dust. 2015 The Mack is purchased from Melrose Cranes by a man named Dallas Fabian of DJF Haulage. Dallas is known for restoring old Mack trucks back to their original condition. Before restoration Dallas was in contact with one of his friends by the name of Gary Richards, who formally worked for Mack Australia. Gary was able to track sales information by the chassis numbers. Through this process he was able to trace it back to the original owners Giacci Bro’s. Dallas's intentions were to paint the truck to the original owners' Giacci Bros colours of green black & white. Dallas needed some old photos of the truck. Dallas started moving his interest over to the west where he was directed to Qube - Qube then directed Dallas to MGM Group. Date - 20/6/2017 MGM Group (Branch Manager - Paul Myles) Receives a phone call from Dallas claiming he has one of Giacci's 1966 Mack trucks. He has owned it for 2 years and has been doing some investigation work trying to find some history surrounding this truck. Dallas found the original papers issued to Giacci Bros and he is wanting for us to send photos to him so he can begin the restoration process back to the original owners colours of green, white and black. Once MGM & the Mario Giacci family found that the Mack was in circulation; they knew their girl had to return home. Dallas was understanding and supportive of the Mario Giacci family to purchase the Mack which we are very thankful for. This truck had all the potential in the world to be resorted by previous owners However that was not the case. We did not find this truck by no means, This truck found us. Welcome home!.
