20.01.2022 I heard the funniest thing yesterday! After leaving a meeting I was approached by a not very gentleman! He proceeded to tell me anybody could do what I have don...e if they had a gold buckle but, he had to work and couldn’t have everything handed to him like I did! As I tell all kids young and old in my program the greatest obstacle you may face is jealousy. Never become jealous hearted for it is the devil’s workshop and will ruin your career, limit your ability and destroy you faster than anything. I looked at him with amusement and was thankful for the opportunity that presented itself to educate participants on this very demoralizing encounter! Admire people, learn from them and realize that those who achieve more just worked harder! Remember the only short cut in this industry is hard work, working harder... 06.01.2022 Tieing down. Week 3 on a 3 y/o stock horse mare. One of my favourite exercises to get them broke and giving in the poll. It’s important to not have them over collected just below the natural head carriage and I like to cross the reins over. It’s a good exercise to start to get collection on a young horse. 5 minutes every day makes a huge difference.
