23.01.2022 We’re just over a month into using a T-slim insulin pump and Charlotte LOVES it Within a week we’d stopped basal delivery during the day and gone back to a levamire shot so she had the freedom of not wearing the pump all the time. Our diabetes team said they have never seen a family do this (but we did it anyway) Charlotte finds that with all the playing and swimming during the holidays makes it really inconvenient to keep the pump on. ... To me, it was logical to give her basal via injection during the day to take that worry away. She’s much happier and carefree. Early days yet but we’re on our first cruise post T1 on Jan 10 so we’ll see how we go with a gazillion carbs on offer and an excited 10 year old Wish us luck I’ll post when I can to keep those of you who are interested, up to date

23.01.2022 HEAT is something that enables us to reduce Charlottes insulin quite dramatically. Last summer was our first with T1 and honestly, neither of us remember much - we were so stressed BUT... this summer (so far) there are times when I’ve given NO INSULIN and levels have come down effortlessly with NO LOWS Pay attention to the small things. For us, lows are caused by insulin and incorrectly calculating carbs. It seems impossible at first but you get really, really good at ...this over time Here’s to T1 parents world wide. We are our kids hero’s
