24.01.2022 IMPORTANT NOTICE for all Reckon Accounts 2019R2 and Payroll Premier 2019/20 Users reporting STP. Due to the unprecedented challenges from COVID-19, Reckon made the decision in August to temporarily allow older versions of Reckon Accounts 2019 R2 and Payroll Premier 2019/20 to continue to access Reckon GovConnect in order to complete Single Touch Payroll reporting. As part of Reckons ongoing strategy to ensure all clients are using ATO compliant software at all times, they'd l...ike to advise that the extension will be ending 14th December. This means you MUST upgrade to version Reckon Accounts 2020 R2 or Payroll Premier 2020/21 by 14th December to continue to lodge STP data. The older versions of Reckon Accounts and Payroll Premier will not maintain compatibility with Reckon GovConnect STP past this date. If you need assistance upgrading please contact us ASAP for assistance.
24.01.2022 Thinking of taking advantage of the Instant Asset Write-Off Scheme? The Instant Asset Write-Off Scheme of $150000.00 will now remain in place until 31-12-2020. Under the scheme, a business can claim an immediate deduction for the business portion of the cost of an asset in the year the asset is first used or installed ready for use.... The scheme can be used for for multiple assets, as long as the cost of each individual asset is less than the relevant threshold. It can also be used for either new or second-hand assets. There is one important limitation of the scheme, namely cars. If a car is purchased (a passenger vehicle, except a motor cycle or similar vehicle, designed to carry a load less than one tonne and fewer than nine passengers) for a business, the instant asset write-off is limited to the car limit of $57,581 for the 201920 income tax year.
