12.01.2022 Windows 10 is coming in the second half of 2015... but why should you upgrade? If you are using Windows 7, Windows 8 or 8.1, you will be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free until the second half of 2016. If you use a Windows phone, you will also be able to upgrade that from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 for free. Of particular note, especially for those using Windows 8 who miss the Start menu, is that the Start menu is returning in Windows 10. Those currently using Windows 7 w...ill be happy to see improvements to the Start menu such as Live tiles. Windows 10 also comes with Cortana, the new Windows digital assistant. This is not just a "clippy" replacement, it works on both voice commands and typing, and is extremely context aware both in terms of your information and how to deliver it. Similar to Siri and Google Now with extra features, Cortana can do the things you expect it to do such as start programs for you, find files for you, allow you to dictate your emails, read your emails or websites to you, set your appointments and much more. Snap has been improved in Windows 10 so you can quickly and easily "snap" a program to the left side of the screen and "snap" a program or two or more into the space remaining on the right side (or vis versa) without having to slowly resize programs manually. Windows 7 was great for desktop computers but not so much for tablets. Windows 8 made great improvements for tablets but gave problems when using desktop computers. Windows 10 detects whether it is on a desktop or tablet and changes how it works accordingly to ensure it is convenient and easy to use in all situations. Windows 7 users simply boot-to-desktop. Windows 8 users booted to the tiled Start screen and most people hated it. Windows 8.1 gave you the option to boot-to-desktop and now Windows 10 users will simply boot-to-desktop. Windows 10 also gives you the ability to have multiple desktops - very useful when switching between tasks that require multiple programs to be open. Instead of having to set them up again each time, you can have two or more seperate desktops with the programs already set up. Training for Windows 10 will be available Australia-wide with T7 Training both in public-sessions or private onsite sessions in your office at www.T7.net.au
