25.01.2022 Now is the time to start preparing your property for Fire Season. We have three small jobs you can do this weekend*. *Check current COVID restrictions for your area on the DHHS website. www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus

25.01.2022 Today marks the start of 16 Days of Activism, a yearly campaign aiming to increase awareness of gender-based violence and discrimination. Hamish Fletcher is the... Captain of Wirrate CFA, and says that to him, respect is speaking up in the face of poor or violent behaviour. As CFA volunteers we support each other by calling out danger on the fire ground. Speaking out against violent behaviour is no different. Violent behaviour is perpetrated and supported through actions. It is also confronted and responded to through actions. The action we choose is up to us.

Remove flammable items from nea...r your home like coffins, crucifixes and broomsticks. Clear away overhanging branches and cobwebs. Keep your lawn mowed but watch out for zombies in the long grass. Seal up your windows to keep away the bats. Trim back shrubs, you never know what gremlins could be hiding in there! Never leave your jack-o-lantern candle unattended. And remember to always check restrictions before lighting your cauldron this summer.
