23.01.2022 We think about the menu and make sure it all works, so you don’t have to. Sweet
22.01.2022 What do you look forward to on Friday? Years ago, pre-kids, Troy and I used to do ‘Fast food friday’. A friend reminded me of it the other day when she told me that they do ‘Fries Friday’ at work. Someone goes down and buys chips from the local cafe to taken back to share. These days we do pizza and occasionally we mix it up with burgers , dumplings or Bao buns. Always with wine. Hooray for Fridays.
21.01.2022 Rural & Remote food. Doesn’t have to be plain. When you live hours from the city... And you’re craving something like KFC.... Korean Fried Chicken, that is. You just have to make it! Crunchy, spicy, juicy and perfect inside a pillowy Bao bun or serve it #glutenfree with kimchi. This is on the menu for September! I show our Dinner Party Club members how to make the whole dish, with some video masterclasses included. One of the key flavour ingredients in this is Gochujang, a Korean fermented chilli paste that is readily available in big supermarkets but can also be found online so you can have it mailed to you. But.., if you can’t find it, you can also substitute a few other flavours and it’s still just as good. ...which means, anyone in Australia can cook it.

18.01.2022 How to start a Dinner Party club?! It’s pretty easy.... click on the link to find out all my tips. https://tableandtaste.com.au/how-to-club/
18.01.2022 #goodvibestribe You can register up to 12 club members with a 2021 membership. They can be your friends or family members. Run your club as formally or relaxed as you want to! Some clubs are long distance pals who want a shared interest. Others are families. Some are groups of couples or girlfriends who meet monthly. If you’re like me, you use the menu for date night and any time you have friends over. It’s designed to be flexible to fit the good food and wine into your life.
17.01.2022 Combining something homemade with a spread of ready made and top quality items like cheeses is a clever way to create a delicious little graze, when you don’t have time. Last night we had some fab goats chevre, really good sourdough crackers and bought pear paste and then I made an olive tapenade by blitzing a few ingredients together. We took it out to our local rock and watched the sun set. So good. Pictured here is the roast olives from this month’s menu. You literally stir some items together in a tray and roast until the olives are slightly dried and wrinkled on the outside leaving them chewy but juicy. This is all you need to do. Combine it with some sliced sopressa, maybe some tiny bocconcini and bread or crackers and you have a super tasty little Friday graze.
17.01.2022 There are so many recipes for this classic but WE (Dinner Party Club, that is) have the best of the lot, as part of our September Menu. Shared by @sieveandstone chef and owner Lisa Shruers-Stone, it has the shortest crumb and one of the best pastry recipes I have worked with and a not-too-sweet lemon curd to balance out the torched meringue top. I’m filming a Masterclass for this recipe today and will be sharing to our club Facebook group. A little visual goes a long way in helping perfect a recipe.
15.01.2022 Question - Hands on OR Demo?! Would you prefer a cake decorating class that you get to ice your own (but costs a bit more) OR one where I demo how to do it while you get to sit back. In both instances you learn a delicious cake recipe and fillings, learn the easiest way to ice a cake smoothly and how to decorate with fresh flowers. All with a glass of wine.
12.01.2022 Happy New Year and the fresh January menu has just dropped in our member’s inboxes! We are super excited to be featuring @wisewine this January! Once you buy a membership and register, you’re sent the Jan emails straights away so no stress if you haven’t signed up yet, you can do it any time this month. Enjoy your first day of 2021 peeps!
12.01.2022 Looking forward to coming back to Pingrup to enjoy a Middle Eastern feast with you all, in just 4 weeks! Get together your friends and follow the link to snap up your ticket as there are limited spots available.
10.01.2022 Congratulations to my beautiful friend Megan and her husband Tim, henceforth known as ‘The Woodfields’. I was super honoured to make this cake for a stunning farm wedding. This vintage fridge was fired up in the farm ‘shack’, to keep the cake cool during the ceremony on the rock nearby and I couldn’t resist a cool snap of it. @confettiandcoevents did such a beautiful job with the marquee styling and I was so thrilled to be able to style the cake flowers supplied by @sig...naturefloraldesign who is a an absolute flower artist. I’ll be adding a cake styling class back to my selection of cooking classes next year so watch this space or let me know if you’d like one in your town. This cake was made of a base tier of choc, fig and salted caramel cake and the top tier was a traditional rich fruit cake doused with plenty of sherry so that Tim and Megan can keep and enjoy on their first weddings anniversary.
09.01.2022 Stop striving for perfection and start living. In years, you’ll look back and remember all the good times you had, the wines tried, the dishes attempted, laughs had and bonds forged with your friends. It doesn’t matter if my house isn’t as tidy as I’d like it to be (it’ll be sparkling clean for a total of 1 minute anyway). ... It doesn’t matter if my wine glasses don’t match (we have smashed a lot lately ) or that my food isn’t plated up exactly like in the recipe cards (they’ve been styled, photographed and filtered by a professional ). It doesn’t matter if everyone doesn’t love my food (we all have a different sense of taste). It doesn’t matter that I left all the dishes in the sink until the next morning to wash up ( we were all too busy having a good night, ok?!) Putting yourself out there, presenting your food in your own home can make you feel incredibly vulnerable and we have this tendency to put unrealistic expectations on ourselves to be the perfect host and make sure everyone has a perfect night. We stress about these things that just don’t matter. Imagine how much more enjoyable your next night would be if you didn’t worry so much. The truth is that your friends will be just so damn happy to have been asked and the point of this club is to give you a reason to do it more often. Your friends don’t care about the perfect stuff. And neither should you. Because life is one big messy experience and at the end of the day the thing that really matters is connection with each other. We remember the good times and the people we shared them with more than anything.
09.01.2022 THE October Menu has dropped! And to START our Dinner Party Clubs will be serving up these crunchy, cheesy filo cigars. The filling is soooo good! It’s #vegetarian and I have included a #glutenfree variation too. The recipe card includes step by step pics on how to make these babies with plenty of tips on how to achieve success, plus ill demo how to do it in the Facebook group. ... 2021 Dinner Party Club Memberships will be available soon! Who will you include in your club? You can register up to 12 members under the one membership and can run it any way that suits you all.
07.01.2022 4 DAYS TO GO! Cheers to starting new family traditions.....Don’t have anyone to start a Dinner Party Club with?! What about creating a club with your family or partner?? We have plenty of clubs that use the menus for their #datenights or an excuse to spend some quality time together creating memories every month. ... This year there will be fun optional cooking challenges set every month too (think my invention tests and mystery boxes ) to add an extra element of fun in your club. In this pic, I had cooked the June menu for my family and we will always remember this as the night we had the best Indian feast AND told the kids they were getting a puppy. Over the course of the last two years my fussy kids have also discovered some new dishes they actually love, like dumplings, lamb ribs, fish tacos, mango ice pops, croquettes.... the list goes on. We’re cooking together, encouraging them to enjoy experiencing new food and Troy and I get to drink some amazing wine in the process. Head to tableandtaste.com.au to grab a membership.
07.01.2022 Did you know that schools are often a fab location for cooking classes because they often have a great home Ec room! In this case it was the brand newly renovated staff room at Wongan DHS that we held a gnocchi making session in last Saturday. Thanks so much for having us! And thanks to this beautiful bunch of Wongan ladies for a beautiful day enjoying a glass of wine and bowl of gnocchi. Looking forward to coming back! If you’d like a class in your town give me a buzz and we can organise something for the new year! I also do private classes for your group of friends or can help find a spot in your town open for anyone to come along. And I’m open to travelling anywhere in WA.

04.01.2022 Annual Camp Oven Off! My cousins and I had an epic camping weekend of camp-oven cooking. Check out all our dishes. In order, we had Red wine & Mushroom Beef Stew from @sars_may, Lamb Neck, Pumpkin & Thyme stew from Damo @elsie_andme and Smoky BBQ beef short ribs and brisket from me....With some incredible sides brought out from my amazing cook Aunty. Everyone brought their A-game. It was by far the best camp food I’ve ever eaten and it so much fun. ... We have a year to come up with our next dishes and I’m sure we’ll have a few more contenders next year @haylos_way @pots_and_tangles @chelsea.maddock.5.
04.01.2022 ‘Dinner Party Club is such a unique and fab idea. It is something we all make a real effort to attend because we know the food is going to be nothing short of amazing and it gives us such a great opportunity to catch up and have a few (yummy) wines together while cooking/devouring some divine dishes! The menus are written in an easy to follow manner which makes even the more complicated dish stress free because each part is written out step by step, the optional short cuts also come in handy at times. Its brilliant!’ Thanks for your Beautiful words @sallyjdesign (the stunner on the far left). Sal’s club of top legends is ‘Tasted & Wasted’. In that order?
