23.01.2022 Thanks for coming WIN News! What a cracker of a day.

23.01.2022 Such huge voluptuous bearded Iris in our garden at the moment. The colours, shapes and textures are just incredible.

23.01.2022 Our farm is looking spectacular, and the only thing that is more spectacular is our farm at sunset. So we’ve decided to open in the evening to the public for the first time ever. Tomorrow’s forecast is too good to waste, so come join us for an evening drink before the flowers finish. Middle Sister mobile bar will be onsite to purchase an evening tipple, but you’ll need to pack your own picnic (no onsite food available at that time). Absolutely no BYO alcohol to comply with regulations please. Admission of $12 adult, $10 concession and $2 kids will be payable on entry to the field. Arrival from 5 to 7pm (sunset will be 7:36).

23.01.2022 Check out this gorgeous mobile bar that worked Tunes in the Tulips this year; you too can hire her for any event needs!

20.01.2022 On our farm today... final two open days Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th! Around half our varieties have finished, but still lots of colour to get lost amongst. See you here today or tomorrow, or we’ll see you in 2021!

19.01.2022 Are your children nearly ready for their annual photo in the tulips? We’ll open September 26th and will be open every day from then till late October.

17.01.2022 On our farm today... Everything is looking so beautiful- choose your weather window and come immerse yourself in colour. Blooms will finish late October, so get planning and don’t miss out this year.

17.01.2022 Our fields today #tablecapetulipfarm

13.01.2022 Our potted peonies are flowering, and this stunning Itoh Peony called Caroline Constable is seriously making us happy. Sunday 25th October will be our very final day, if you’re planning on coming by, do pop into our shop to say hello to Caroline A timely article was published yesterday about growing these in your garden. https://www.google.com.au//4c0a443503f6cc452ef266a7727a7fed

11.01.2022 What a cracker day at the farm! Sun shining and the tulips are looking stunning (as are the Dutch iris)

11.01.2022 Pros of visiting on an overcast day: amazing light for photos Cons of visiting on an overcast day: a bit muddy underfoot! In good news, we’ve got gumboots ready for you to borrow.

11.01.2022 Our fields look beautiful... but so does our indoor display! Karen Gilday is an incredible florist who volunteered a huge amount of time and energy to create an expanse of blooms inside our gallery/shop. We can’t thank her enough

11.01.2022 Lots of you have messaged us asking how the flowers held up after Thursday’s storms. The truth is, tulips are incredibly and surprisingly hardy. These photos taken Friday 9th October at about 4.30pm. As you can see, despite a few petals falling- it’s still absolutely magnificent out there.

10.01.2022 Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there, but especially to Farmer, our incredible Dad. His strength, kindness and propensity for silliness fills our hearts while his amazing cooking fills our bellies. We love you Farmer.

09.01.2022 SEVERE WEATHER WARNING Thursday the 8th of October is forecast to be extremely wet with up to 70mm of rain predicted. We strongly suggest you reschedule plans to visit on an alternative date.

09.01.2022 Some of you may have already received our latest catalogue packed full of gorgeous spring flowering bulbs. Our online store will go live in the next couple of days- we’ll let you know when it’s up. If you’re after specialty varieties (like the stunning Mascotte pictured here), we recommend ordering early- we’re very likely to sellout. As always, shipping will be in March to ensure optimal bulb quality.

08.01.2022 On our farm today... For those visiting from Hobart, we are open tomorrow Hobart Show Day (and every day till Sunday 25th). Early flowering varieties are finished, but our mid and late varieties are still spectacular. We will officially close to tourists on Monday 26th October.

08.01.2022 Have you got dreams of growing tulips in your own garden? We've just launched many of the spring flowering bulbs for pre-order on our webstore https://www.vdqbulbs.com.au/collections/pre-season-specials Prices listed are around 10% cheaper than our January catalogue prices will be... and we'll keep the link live till mid November. The photos below show just a few of the varieties we've got available, or if you're new to tulip growing, you might like to choose a bag of mixed tulips for spectacular spring colour.

07.01.2022 Potted tulips selling out quickly! Each year in May we plant out a few thousand pots of tulips which we sell during our tourism open period. As you can imagine, this May we weren’t terribly confident that we would have any tourists to sell them to, and as such, we planted many less pots than usual. We recommend visiting in the next week if you’re keen to purchase pots- we’re selling out very quickly!

07.01.2022 Tunes in the Tulips is on again! Despite the challenges we are excited to team up with Big hART and Project O this year. Aaron Hopper, Yyan Ng and Emily Sheppard will be creating innovative musical performances inspired by kelp, pollen, soil and rain. Tickets are very limited.

07.01.2022 Our incredible friends and neighbours grow some seriously spectacular peonies... but we think it’s Ruby that is the real show stopper. Check them out.

06.01.2022 Anyone need any bulbs? Catalogue online now!

04.01.2022 Our tulips are looking STUNNING right now, and it’s looking like it will be a relatively early season with many varieties finishing around the 21st October. Thursday 8th is forecast to be very wet, so if planning a visit for that day please bring jackets, gumboots, and a hardy attitude!

03.01.2022 Yes we are open tomorrow! And we will be every day from September 26th till late October. It’s been an incredibly busy day preparing the display and all the ins and outs of having people visit our farm. We are very pleased to have a modest and beautiful showing of Tulips for our first day. Due to the wet weather please consider bringing footwear other than your best (gumboots suggested!)! This photo taken earlier this afternoon.

02.01.2022 On our farm today... Our final open day for 2020 will be Sunday 25th October. While many of the early varieties are now finished, there’s still a lot of colour in the field as you can see. Our tourism season is such a huge time, as a family we tend to work long days and have very little down time. Of course, we need to continue working with the rest of our crops as well as tourism, and so we are often very exhausted by the time October finishes. This year we were so worried that we’d put in all the work and not have any visitors... but you lot proved us TOTALLY WRONG. We have been overwhelmed with the number of Tasmanians who have travelled to our farm and supported us. We are feeling so grateful, relieved and lucky. Thank you Tasmania.

01.01.2022 Open to tourists September 26th till late October! There’s been lots of questions from people confused about whether we’ll be open this year. The answer is yes, we will absolutely be open (and following COVID guidelines) from 9am to 5pm every day, September 26th till late October (whenever the tulips finish). We can’t wait to see you. ... Please follow the Waratah Wynyard council page for information about how they have transformed the usual tulip festival into a series of smaller events under the Spring Loaded banner for 2020, in order to comply with restrictions. Any questions about this should be directed to them

01.01.2022 Look at this good boy! Max came for a visit on Wednesday with his humans. We reckon they did a great job providing him with a backdrop *nearly* worthy of his handsomeness! Have you got a good shot of your pup in the field? We’d LOVE to see it.
