23.01.2022 Significant Weather Threat Map Friday, 27 November 2020 QLD: In the paler red shaded areas in the NSW eastern and central interior as well as the ACT, inland VIC, very localised storms are possible during the day and evening. Reasonably low severity is likely in these areas but some may cause a burst of gusty winds. In the stronger red shaded areas in northern, central and southeast WA, the northern NT and northwestern and interior parts of QLD, scattered storms are likely wi...th the main peak in the afternoon. A few storms near the southeast Gulf of Carpentaria coast and inland north QLD are likely to become severe with damaging winds being the main threat. Localised small to medium size hail is also possible due to cold air aloft. Severe heatwave conditions will be present over central Australia, extending to central parts of the NSW coast. For people in parts of Peninsula, Gulf Country, North Tropical Coast and Tablelands, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders and Herbert and Lower Burdekin Forecast Districts. Issued at 1:37 pm Thursday, 26 November 2020. Weather Situation: Severe thunderstorms are developing over the inland tropics. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Musgrave, Palmerville, Georgetown, Einasleigh and Gregory Springs.
