23.01.2022 Well it sounds like it may be a wet weekend, so if you're looking for something different to do why not head up to our own Herberton Mining Museum - it's interesting, educational and lots of fun.

23.01.2022 What gift ideas do you have for Fathers Day? Well, here's one suggestion. The Tolga Farmers Market is on Father's Day this Sunday 6 September 7am to 12 noon. Perhaps after breakfast in bed, head on down to grab some fresh local Tableland produce, coffee, homemade goodies, books and plants. You never know, there just might be the perfect Fathers Day gift hiding in one of those stalls !

22.01.2022 Who doesn't love a local market and we have them every weekend somewhere on the Tablelands? On Saturday 22 August it’s the Yungaburra Market from 7.30am to 12noon, and on Sunday 23 August there is the wonderfully quaint Tumoulin Market from 8am to 12noon at the Tumoulin Railway Yard, which is just 9km out of Ravenshoe heading towards Tumoulin. Get along and enjoy your day while you explore fantastic gifts and delicious local produce, and help our local small businesses too! ... Please remember to practice physical distancing.

17.01.2022 The Herberton Mining Museum is a popular spot on a rainy day. But you know what? Tomorrow is Sunday, the sun will be shining and the Wondecla Markets will be on. Now that sounds like a lovely day out around Herberton. Many thanks to Heather for this lovely review!

16.01.2022 Up for an adventure? Why not give Yabi Mountain and Mt Baldy a try? The walk offers great views and is also dog friendly but they must be on a leash. Mt Baldy is a moderate to difficult walk and Yabi Mountain is a moderate walk. Both walking tracks are accessed from Rifle Range Road. One of our lovely volunteers Helen Pink has captured some great photos. The first is the lookout at Mt Baldy, the second is the lookout on the way up to Yabi Mountain summit and the last picture is a track between Yabi Mountain and Mt Baldy. Remember to stop in at the Atherton Visitor Information Centre to get more details about these and other great walking tracks!

16.01.2022 The Hou Wang Temple and Chinatown Museum is OPEN again ! Located on the outskirts of modern Atherton it was established in the mid 1880s on the site originally known as Cedar camp. The Old Post Office Gallery is in the same building as the Chinatown Museum and has rolling exhibitions of local artists works through out the year. This week it has commenced with an exhibition of local artists at their work, entitled 'In the Zone'. 12.01.2022 Volunteers at the Ravenshoe Visitor Centre are currently working on a facelift for their World War II display, plus a whole new series of photos for their gallery. This photo is of Ravenshoe's townsfolk walking up to the parade ground where the Duke of Gloucester is about to arrive. He was the only member of the British royal family to hold the post, and served from 1945 to 1947. It must have caused quite a stir for him to visit Ravenshoe at that time! For those who know Ravenshoe, do you recognise where this photo was taken?

12.01.2022 Okay, its the weekend! What to do? Well how about this for an idea? Head up to Ravenshoe and check out the Festival of the Forest at the Buffs Hall. Old McDonald's Farm will be there 10am until 1pm with a petting zoo for the kids, plus there's a free sausage sizzle. Then wander out to the Little Millstream Falls or BIG (yes they're really BIG!) Millstream Falls. Ho...w long is it since you've been there?! Then call into the Windy Hill Wind Farm. You can get really close to the windmills and in this October wind they'll be pumping! Plus check out the spectacular views from the lookout, on a clear day you can see the ocean!

The round trip takes 30 to 45 minutes, and then there's heaps of other stuff to do in Herberton as well.... All aboard The Tinlander ! See more

08.01.2022 One of the things we love about Herberton is that fur babies can come with you on the Tinlander train, around the Historic Village Herberton, up to the Herberton Mining Museum, along the Fire Trails and for a cuppa at a cafe in town. This weekend head up to Herberton and take the whole family Woof! #athertontablelands #herberton
