23.01.2022 ...it never ends!

22.01.2022 Hows your week going? Sick of WFH +/- total social isolation?? Today, I snapped a photo of my workspace. The 100yo family heirloom desk in my office was literally covered in job-love... Amidst sticky to-do lists (theyre my thing), noted observations from sessions, and an ever-important BeyBlade stadium at my right hand; I built me a play-doh hamburger, a pizza, and some hot chips. I also nailed the animal domain with some impressively manicured farm fauna and a flock of... ducks! I done did the great play-doh creations! ... just sayin ... and my young friend certainly impressed with her own play-doh achievements and the solid interactions we enjoyed along the way! Whod have thought that play-doh, solo, in a silent house and in your thirties, would ever be this much fun!? #teletherapy #techworld #learningeveryday #learningtogether #speechie #ruralspeechie #wfh #covidrestrictions #twentytwenty #playdoh #preschooler #firsttimezoomuser #finallywonherover #upthereforthewin Keep on keepin on, everyone. 2020 is nearly done and weve gotta be hopeful that the turn of the year brings with it some good!? Stay well, Louise.

21.01.2022 Home reading advice for parents. Practice in reading aloud is very important for literacy development. Reading with a parent or carer is a great opportunity to... do this, but parents often do not get good advice about how to help their child. The Pause, Prompt, Praise method is research-based and effective. When your child is a beginning reader and has difficulty with a word the information on our page and in our handout has been shown to be the best way to help them. Download the parent handout at https://www.fivefromfive.org.au//u/2017/03/homereading.pdf

17.01.2022 The evolving COVID-19 ‘climate’ is, of course, affecting all of us. All families, all workplaces, all relationships, and all available ‘options’ from one day to the next. We must take care of each other. Our choices must be carefully considered, so that we can do the best for our children, for ourselves, and for our community. I am not currently offering home-based, school-based, nor in-clinic sessions, but I am still here! I remain dedicated to supporting your children and I... am available to you via Telepractice options, amidst the needs of my own family and my commitments external to Table Talk. If you have not already established with me a ‘forward plan’ for your child’s therapy, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Additionally, if you are a new client seeking support but you are feeling uncertain about how it’s even possible, then please pick up the phone or flick me an email. We will keep moving forward, together! Take care and stay well, Louise Fifield 0439 449 714 [email protected] See more

15.01.2022 By golly, there are some genuine humans in our world. Around every rough corner, I am always fortunate enough to have someone restore my faith. Every single time. Thank you to all of the parents, teachers, and kids who are putting a smirk on my face and an air in my step. What a privilege it is to be a part of your lives and for you to be brightening mine. Warmest regards, Louise. #heartfeltgifts

12.01.2022 What a crazy time these recent months have been. We are all still navigating new pathways forward, with an ongoing layer of uncertainty. I am incredibly proud of every child, every parent, every educator, every carer, and every assistant who has stepped up and embraced their own learning so that we can keep on keepin on. This is something I too have had to do and although daunting, it has been liberating in lots of ways. Ill admit Im a little sick of my own company, as I... have now tallied 14 weeks at my desk, but it has genuinely brightened my days every time Ive logged on to see your faces smiling back at me. The time ahead of us will involve dolly steps forward, as it will for all industries and settings, but we are still in this together and I will continue to support you all in the only way I know how: one step at a time and simply having a crack! Take care, Louise. See more

11.01.2022 I have another preschooler in this house, going crazy and feeling quite annoyed that he is not yet allowed to attend school every day!! How dare they invite him for just a few hours, he deserves to be a kinder kid NOW! Hope everyone is remembering to breathe deeply, as we begin nearing the end of the school year and preparing ourselves for the onslaught of THE BIG school holidays! **sigh**
