24.01.2022 NATIONAL VOLUNTEER AWARDS ANNOUNCEMENT A player and an administrator for more than 60 years, Pam Tait is our second recipient of the 50 Years of Service to Table Tennis Award. A powerhouse of veterans table tennis and a former World Veterans Champion in Over 75 Women’s Doubles, Pam has won a total of 53 titles at the National Veterans Championships. She also had the honour of being one of the inaugural inductees into the TTA Hall of Fame (Veterans). Pam also served as a Board... Member for Table Tennis Victoria for more than 5 years, on the Victorian Veterans Committee for more than 20 years and was a State Veterans Selector. Glenn has enjoyed a decorated career for more than 25 years at national, continental and international level. 21.01.2022 NATIONAL VOLUNTEER AWARDS ANNOUNCEMENT Starting his journey as a player in 1964, we are pleased to announce Ken Sands as a recipient of the 50 Years of Service to Table Tennis Award. Ken served on the committee at Goulburn Table Tennis Association for many years, before retiring to Port Macquarie where he was instrumental in reviving the Port Macquarie Table Tennis Club. He is a current Committee Member and former President of the NSW Country Table Tennis Association and succ...essfully refreshed the NSW Country Championships an event that now attracts more than 200 participants every year. As a player, Ken has won a swag of medals at titles at the National Veterans Championships, representing his beloved NSW with pride. 12.01.2022 TTA is excited to announce that National Head Coach (Para) Alois Rosario has signed a four year contract extension until the end of 2024. Since 2013, Alois has guided the program to exceptional results, and moreover, 2019 was the most successful year ever for the program, with Australian athletes winning 17 gold medals in international competitions. 11.01.2022 NATIONAL VOLUNTEER AWARDS ANNOUNCEMENT The fourth and final recipient of the 25 Years of Service to Table Tennis Award is Inh Van Le. Born in Vietnam, Inh Van Le rose to become a National Team player. He moved to Australia in 1993 and since then has devoted himself to the sport. He has organised the annual Australian Vietnamese Table Tennis Championships, coached the NSW Junior State Team, as well as school children at Strathfield Boys High School and St. John’s Primary Schoo...l. A two-time World Veterans Champion, he has won 4 medals in total at the World Veterans Championships, and at the National Veterans Championships, won a staggering 55 titles. Inh Van Le had the honour of being amongst the inaugural inductees into the TTA Hall of Fame (Veterans) in 2019. Inh Van Le is a role model that we look up to and we congratulate him on his award. Today we announce our first recipient of the 50 Years of Service to Table Tennis Award for this year Mick McShane. Mick first entered the table tennis world in 1950 and since then has made an incredible contribution. Mick had a glittering officiating career spanning more than 50 years, umpiring at numerous events inclu...ding the 2008 Olympic Games. He won the TTA Official of the Year in 2004, and the QLD Government Services to Sport Award the same year. Mick served as the President of Table Tennis Queensland for 8 years and is a Table Tennis Queensland Life Member. Mick has also served on the Board of Brisbane Table Tennis Association and Moreton Bay Table Tennis Association. Congratulations to Mick on such outstanding achievements in our sport. 07.01.2022 NATIONAL VOLUNTEER AWARDS ANNOUNCEMENT TTA is proud to announce Neil Montfort as the Fran Keyhoe Official of the Year. The prestigious award recognises an outstanding referee or umpire who has led by example and championed inclusive, safe, fair and enjoyable table tennis for all. Hailing from the Diamond Valley Table Tennis Association, Neil has conducted the vast majority of rules education and State and National Umpire Courses in Victoria over the past 20 years and has succ...essfully mentored many young umpires to progress through the ranks. Additionally, this year Neil was the Deputy Referee for the Stage 2 Australian Olympic Qualification Tournament. This is the second time Neil has won this award, previously winning in 2010. 07.01.2022 TOM AND JOY BOYD RECEIVE OAM'S FOR SERVICE TO TABLE TENNIS The NSW husband and wife duo of Tom and Joy Boyd were recognised for their service to table tennis, with both receiving OAM’s today. Joy represented Australia at the 1969 World Championships and was the Australian Senior Player of the Year in 1972. She also won multiple titles at the National Veterans Championships. Later in life, Joy won a bronze medal in Women’s Wheelchair Singles at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. Tom... also won multiple titles at the National Veterans Championships. Together they have been heavily involved in the administrative side of the sport. They helped found the Kiama Table Tennis Club in 2007, where Tom has been President since its inception and Joy has served as Secretary and Treasurer. Both are Life Members of Kiama Table Tennis Club. Both served TTNSW over the years too, and at a National level they were part of a group of people who assisted with establishing the National Veterans Championships. Hearty congratulation to Tom and Joy for their lifetime contribution to our great sport.

Regarded as the Godfather of para table tennis in Australia, the TTA Life Member was directly responsible for initiating the National Para Championships. Today, the National Para Squad has many world class athletes, but this wouldn’t have been possible without Arthur’s foresight. 02.01.2022 STEVE DAINTON INDUCTED INTO THE TTA HALL OF FAME TTA is pleased to announce that Steve Dainton has been inducted into the TTA Hall of Fame (Administrator). Steve’s administrative career over the past 21 years has taken him to the highest echelon of international table tennis. Steve is currently the CEO of ITTF and previously held the roles of ITTF Marketing Director, ITTF Asia Pacific Office Director, ITTF-Oceania Development Officer and TTA Scholarship Coach. Steve's career ...achievements to date are lengthy and he is motivated to contribute further to our great sport in the coming years. Steve is the third and final of the inaugural administrators to be inducted into the TTA Hall of Fame, joining Neil Harwood OAM and Glenn Tepper. Put simply, Neil, Glenn and Steve are the three Aussies who have contributed the most as administrators on the international stage and the Australian table tennis community can be very proud to call them our own. For over 30 years, Rosanna has worked tirelessly to promote para table tennis and engage children through schools and various community outreach programs. As a board member of Table Tennis ACT for more than 10 years, she has been instrumental in implementing numerous initiatives including creating a partnership with Special Olympics ACT, coordinatin...g weekly para coaching sessions at the club and helping to organise the annual ACT Schools’ Championships. Rosanna has also made a strong contribution to the National Para Team, where she has travelled with the team to multiple international competitions. Rosanna’s contribution to table tennis is truly outstanding.
