24.01.2022 Cutlan and Sakova win 2020 Open Major Titles. At today's Tasmanian Open the mens singles was won by Aidan Cutlan over a gallant Daniel Huxtable in an all Northern Suburbs final which played host to the event at their Glenorchy centre. The title was Cutlans second after he previously won the event in 2016. Aidans win broke the secquence of Victorian Simon Johnson who held the mantle for the last three years but unfortunately did not have the opportunity to try and extend his ...hold on the title this year due to the current restrictions. Nonetheless a very credible win by Cutlan who had to fight off many challengers during the day in some close and high standard matches. The women's title went to the evergreen Irina Sakova who repeated last year's debut victory. Today's win was just reward for Irina's hard work and dedication and she has showed remarkable consistency with a top two finish in the Women's singles in 5 out of the past 7 Tasmanian Opens. 14.01.2022 GRANDPARENTS WEEK 2020 After a successful launch in 2019 Grandparents Week is back again this year. Regulars at our three southern seniors groups are invited to bring along their grandchildren to their regular sessions during the October school holidays. Fun activities and coaching will be provided for the children on the day by the state development officer. Normal charges will apply for the members but no charge for children or any new seniors wishing to attend.
