22.01.2022 Technique matters, especially when learning to Back Squat with a Barbell. Tash has improved her technique almost overnight by simply narrowing her grip on the barbell. Her hands now sit just past her shoulder width. This instantly forces your chest to sit higher and fastens the bar, making the upperbody a solid mass. Well done Tash. Keep up the good work.

19.01.2022 My Dad is 78, has recently had a large bowel surgery and has recovered much faster than the medical staff expected. They have put it down to his 3 hours a week of gym session. I train my Dad using Kinetic_Link_Training programs. I am a level 2 in KLT which means I am now a qualified instructor in advance rehab techniques and mobility training. The level 1 exercise my Dad is performing here is called a "Posterior pull, mid cable, with a parallel squat, symmetrical. This works your entire posterior chain as well as your quads. Combining different muscle groups in 1 exercise help to engage your muscles in a more practical and therefore functional way. If this is something you might be interested in learning. 14.01.2022 Plank Jacks are rough on those with troublesome joints. Keri has been training with me for years and has developed amazing form in her compound lifts and basic movement patterns. In this session we limited equipment to dumbbells and completed a 40min HIIT session. The trick to the plank jacks is to keep your bum down and only use enough force to enable your toes to leave the ground and your legs abduct. #plankjacks #parkexercise #outdoorfitness #glhcipswich #tacticl #outdoorworkouts

09.01.2022 Marg is a long time client who has numerous mobility issues that can flare up from time to time. Today we worked Marg's upper posterior chain-Back day. So what is needed to give your back muscles a perfect workout? 5 main exercises comprising of low to high pull high to low pull horizontal pull unilateral pull... bodyweight pull Make sure you feel your back working more than your forearms. Set the weight light enough at first so you can actually feel your back working more than your arms. This will help develop mind to muscle memory. My biggest piece of advice is 'Don't white knuckle the bar'. Use a dead man grip and pretend your hands are simply anchor points, then close your eyes and picture your back muscles as you pull.
