23.01.2022 Today we had a halloween dress up at Tadpoles. Eeerie, beastly and hair raising fun we had today. Ooooooh!

19.01.2022 Today the children enjoyed celebrating all of the things that we love about Australia! They loved participating in fun cultural experiences and games, creating artworks, picking out their own Australia Day tattoos and even enjoyed a yummy sausage sizzle for lunch!

19.01.2022 Here at Tadpoles Early Learning the Kindergarten children have been very busy learners. They have been interested in bees and pollination and how honey is made. The children have been investigating and researching about the Bees Life cycle. Our Project work approach which is often initiated by the children provides opportunities for the children to take agency of their own learning and represent this through the construction of personally meaningful artefacts and hands on l...earning and investigations. Scaffolding the project "What do we know about this topic? "What do we want to find out and investigate " How can we find out more? "What did we learn or discover? There are so many benefits to this and the children take an active role in the decision making. As young learners they take ownership of their learning and feel increasingly competent and confident. In supporting the children, a range of classroom group experiences are planned from large and small groups to working in pairs and this helps the children to work collaboratively. The project approach is closely connected to the Curriculum encouraging the children to engage in critical thinking, test out ideas, find out information and problem solve. See more

17.01.2022 Thank you Jeff for our amazing outdoor kitchen....let the baking begin.

17.01.2022 The Kindergarten children have been excited to return to Gymnastics on Monday. There is so much fun to be had in just one lesson. Jumping, rolling, tumbling, swinging, leaping. Gymnastics provides the children to improve all around muscle strength and is fantastic for balance and posture. It equips the children with the skills they need to interact with the environment around them and develop awareness of their body, allowing them to feel successful in physical activities and to learn to love being active. One of their favourite things to do is jumping into the foam pit!

16.01.2022 Kindergarten research project on bees and pollination led to investigating how bees make their hives. In calculating how much honey one bee makes Lilah stated I think it took 22 bees to make that honey! We are loving our science experiences with our new science resources.

16.01.2022 We would like to welcome Nicole Pinczel to our Tadpoles Early Learning Team. Nicole is excited to be undertaking a traineeship and is looking forward to meeting you all. Nicole shows a lovely warmth and her interactions with children are beautiful.

14.01.2022 The kindergarten children are doing a research project around bees and pollination. Today we integrated this learning with NAIDOC week and the indigenous significance of the native bees "gaiya" to he Gubbi Gubbi people. We recreated artwork inspired by Lyndon Davis's indigenous painting.

12.01.2022 Our Bush Kindy Excursions are introduced back into our Kindergarten program this term. Bush Kindy is a regular and integral part of our program that will foster a connection with nature through play and exploration. A love of the natural world is the foundation of environment awareness and children have the opportunity to ask questions, investigate, explore and importantly have fun in nature. It is different to our usual play at the centre, in the outdoors we can go on longer walks, make new discoveries of places, observe different plants and trees, their branches and watch the native birds and animals.

12.01.2022 The Children's Book Council of Australia Celebrates Book week with the theme of 2020 "Curious Creatures, Wild Minds". Tadpoles Cooroy Children joined in the fun to celebrate children's literature, wearing their favourite costumes and sharing their favourite books. As educators we value the importance of early literacy. Reading is fun and an enjoyable experience and by reading with the children we hope to influence them to be lifetime readers.

12.01.2022 The busy season is coming! Book your casual days in advance up until the end of January 2021. Book via the KindyNow app, or in-centre.

12.01.2022 Adelina explained the significance of the native bees to the Gubbi Gubbi people.

09.01.2022 There are so many benefits that come from reading with children at a young age! From our babies all the way to our Kindergarten children we love encouraging early literacy learning. Share with us some of your favourite books!

09.01.2022 There is nothing better than seeing the joy on a child’s face when they pick something from the garden that they have helped to plant and nurture. Lately there has been a lot of interest in the beautiful sunflowers that have been brightening the vegie patch. I decided we couldn’t let this little gem from nature just be admired, I wanted the children to really experience the wonder of nature and engage in some hands on activities to extend their interest and learning.

06.01.2022 For children and families the transition to school is a significant milestone in a child's education. Here at Tadpoles Early learning, our Kindergarten Program fosters collaborative partnerships with our local school community. By working together we can support children to transition into their school life. The children enjoyed their visit to the Cooroy State School. Together they all walked over to the school and visited the Library. The children listened to a story read by Courtney Cashen and joined in some group games and activities related to the story. The aim of these transitions is to foster the children's enthusiasm for life long learning and school readiness.

01.01.2022 Painting exercises your child’s brain. Creative activities like painting, use a different part of the brain than reading and or math. The right side of the brain is our creative half and responsible for visual skills and understanding what we see through our eyes (which is still developing ). Creative play and painting activities help exercise your child’s right brain leading to an overall healthy brain development.
