Although we are miles away (and a day ahead) Saturday 7 November will be remembered by many as the day Biden succeeded in his quest to be President of the US. With the spirit of perseverance he has reached this point on the third attempt and in the face of family tragedy. Perseverance resonates with our First Nations people who have occupied and cared for this continent for over 65,000 years. This week is NAIDOC week under the banner of Always Was, Always Will Be. Read more in the TDA newsletter. https://tda.edu.au//a-new-hope-comment-by-ceo-craig-rober/ #naidoc2020 #alwayswasalwayswillbe #POWEROFTAFE #TAFE4AUSTRALIA #remembrance

07.01.2022 International students wanting to take up work opportunities often need formal training of some form which falls outside of the primary course they are enrolled in and it risks contravening existing obligations under the Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS Act). The Australian Government Department of Education, Skills and Employment (DESE) is proposing amendments so students can take up these supplementary courses by changing the current regulation. It so...unds sensible, however, could there be flow-on implications for providers and students? TDA supports the intent of the proposed amendments but also highlights some potential unintended risks. https://tda.edu.au/proposed-amendments-to-the-esos-act-wha/ #POWEROFTAFE #TAFE4AUSTRALIA #submission #internationalstudents

It’s really about those who are left behind in the race of life in our aspirations for them in our schooling here in Australia and their capabilities as young... adults to live fulfilling lives. Read about it in this week’s TDAs newsletter. You will be surprised about Australia’s poor OECD ranking on investment in VET. https://tda.edu.au//the-race-of-life-is-pertinent-this-we/ #POWEROFTAFE #TAFE4AUSTRALIA #vocationaleducation #vocationaltraining #oecd
