25.01.2022 Hello, we are having a pop-up ceramics exhibition of work by Advanced Diploma students in ceramics at Gymea TAFE, for Sydney Craft Week on Saturday the 17th, 10 am to 4 pm, 17 Riverview Rd Earlwood, in my Studio garden on the Cooks River, (Inner West).

15.01.2022 Winner of 2019 BigCi Anniversary Award, at BigCi Open Day this Sunday 1 November, 11-4. Habitat, my project at BigCi aims to bring greater visibility to bee pop...ulations, foreground the importance of Wollemi National Park as an inspirational environment, and generate visually striking architectural structures for bees. I have constructed a series of clay prototype designs for larger habitable bee structures. Research sourced from local apiarists and the aesthetic features of Wollemi National Park inspired innovative bee habitat that will help counter threats to biodiversity caused by climate change and urbanisation. Three other artists take part in the Open Day: Rae Bolotin (sculpture, installation, performance), Melissa Anastasi (film director and writer), and Luke Foster(drawing, video, installation). 14.01.2022 I’m excited to announce a new project I have been working on for the last couple of months. MERRAN ESSON: A LIFE OF COLLECTING As you would all know by now, ...in July this year I was diagnosed with 2 Glioblastomas, which are a particularly nasty brain tumours. I was delighted when both my children decided to document my ceramics collection whilst I was in hospital. My son, James took some beautiful photos of the work, and sitting and sharing my stories with my daughter Kirsty, who transcribed my words and edited them into this book, kept me busy, and focused on my love for art, during a particularly trying time. You can catch a preview of what’s inside the book in the latest issue of Ceramics, Art and Perception by @mansfieldceramics And the book is now for sale (by pre-order) on my website, link in bio. MERRAN ESSON: A LIFE OF COLLECTING This is the stories behind the private collection of Merran Esson. Collected over her life and documented by Merran’s two children as she battles a brain tumour. Originally intended to simply document each piece within the collection it quickly became clear that for Merran collecting is as much, if not more, about community. This book documents a group of stories about Merran’s personal connections to the global ceramics community and how the pieces ended up in her collection. The book comprises of 350+ pages of beautiful works of art photographed in Merran's home. #ceramics #australianceramics #ceramicsartandperception #mansfieldceramics #book #collecting #collectingart #preorder #lifeofcollecting #merranesson #collector #project
