24.01.2022 To kick off Mental Health Month, check out Nat showcasing the "tapping" method to her TAFE NSW Early Childhood and Education Support students! Tapping is a strategy often called "psychological acupuncture" as it uses pressure on acupuncture points of the body (without the use of needles) to generate a stress response. 21.01.2022 The ‘Green Living YES Program’ facilitated by the Early Childhood, Education and Care section has been running each Thursday over a six-week period and was available to local high school students in Years 9 and 10. The students were able to engage in Green Living Workshops, a range of interactive experiences and projects that promote sustainable practices that Early Childhood Educators can implement with young children to support their learning about the world around them. T...he workshops also assisted participants to learn ways in which we can minimise our impact on the earth to protect it for future generations. Students created a variety of recycled and sustainable resources including macramé plant jars, bees wax wraps, natural lip balm and bath bombs, green cleaning products, recycled paper gift tags, basket making and a collaborative mosaic creation. These creations are going to be shared amongst friends and loved ones as Christmas gifts. 19.01.2022 October is Mental Health Month! We've asked our TAFE NSW Counsellors to share some simple tips to keep your mind in tip-top shape throughout the year! Tip #1: Get Enough Sleep. It seems simple enough but it really does help manage your stress levels. The Sleep Health Foundation recommends 7-9 hours per night. Routine and limiting screen time before bed can really help. Don't forget you can make a free and confidential appointment with your local TAFE Counsellor to get more information and support on a range of issues that may be affecting your life and studies.
