25.01.2022 The theme for National Reconciliation Week In this together resonated in ways no one could have foreseen when Reconciliation Australia announced it last year, but it reminds us whether in a crisis or in reconciliation we are all #InThisTogether. The elements in this image, found in our Reconciliation Action Plan by graduate Riki Salam from We Are 27 Creative, embody one of our core values of working together (represented in yellow) across our different regions (represente...d in black and white). While this National Reconciliation Week we couldn't be physically together to show respect, we showed respect to Country where we were, and we'd like to do so again. We respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which TAFE Queensland Eagle Farm operates. We recognise the continuing connection to land, waters, culture and kin that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples uphold. We pay our respects to Elders past and present, who give us strength, inspiration and guidance to deliver great training outcomes for all Queenslanders. You can view our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) on our website at www.tafeqld.edu.au/rap, and we look forward to continuing to feature stories of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students across our different channels. #InThisTogether2020 #NRW2020

21.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.... Lest we forget.

08.01.2022 You can't buy your sight back. Just wear the safety glasses. 6800 Australian workers suffered a serious eye injury between 2000-2015. That's 453 a year. That's at least 1 person, every singe day. #tradiesnationalhealthmonth

08.01.2022 TAFE Queensland’s mobile Coffee and BBQ Trailer was outside Brisbane’s Parliament House yesterday morning to speak with members about the importance of trade tr...aining whilst providing free hot beverages. The mobile Coffee and BBQ Trailer regularly delivers information about training options and advice to tradies, subcontractors and employers at their own workplace. Supported by industry partners the Coffee Trailer serves up the latest training news along with cups of coffee and a hot breakfast. Feedback from industry has been overwhelmingly positive with tradies and employers appreciating the advice on topics ranging from flexible training options, Recognition of Prior Learning, apprenticeship pathways, to funding and financial incentives available. Last year, the team engaged with more than 20,000 industry trade professionals face-to-face, visited more than 200 worksites, served over 20,000 cups of coffee and cooked over 40,000 sausages. Contact us to book a visit by the TAFE Queensland Mobile Coffee and BBQ team.

01.01.2022 The team at our Alexandra Hills campus created a TradeMutt themed day this week to start the conversation about mental health. Trademutt, a social enterprise workwear brand has a mission to make the invisible issue of mental health impossible to ignore. The shirts gained a lot of attention with students and parents stopping to ask what it was all about - starting conversations.
