20.01.2022 We're on the count down to one of my FAVOURITE events of the year ...Stitchers Dream Day Out, hosted by the Marvellous Marion Marshall & Stupendous Steph Marshall of The Quilters Angel. And the best part ... Unlike SOOOOOO many other events this year, it's GOING AHEAD FULL STEAM!! WOO! HOO! Marion & Steph have worked hard to put every possible Covid safety strategy in place to ensure we have a safe weekend full of all the fun, friendship & stitching we've come to enjoy. Th...ere are still a few places left, so if you're a QLD stitcher needing a weekend of fun with like-minded ladies (we will miss our interstate friends this year, but, boy, will we party next time we can gather! ) pop over to the QA website quickly to secure your spot. Since we've been distracting ourselves from the craziness that is 2020 with Christmassy craftiness, I thought I'd introduce you to one of Santa's 'beary' cute elf helpers. This is Holly. She is dressed for the festive season in her pretty rouched party dress decorated with the holly leaves & button berries she's named for & her felt curly-toed shoes. 19.01.2022 Happy Weekend, everyone! It's a long weekend here in Queensland for the Queen's Birthday ... Don't get me started on the ridiculous habit state governments seem to have of juggling public holidays for political reasons! On the positive side, that gives me an extra day to play with some designing, which is good, since I find myself facing a N.W.S.A. Project ... You know ... Not Working - Start Again! I like both elements of the stitchery I'm designing ... Just not together. Back to re-trace & re-think thread colours. Hope you're planning some creative time, too. But I wasn't too busy to take the weekend off to play at Stitchers Dream Day Out hosted by the Marvellous Marion & Stupendous Steph of The Quilters Angel. Around 150 lovely stitchers, lots of yummy fabrics, four project patterns designed especially for the day by Debbie McGee & Nikki Tervo, friends to catch up with, new friends to be made ... Mine has been a bit muddly, but today I'm taking advantage of a grey, overcast day-off-Friday to make a new sample for my "Vintage Diva Backpack". 07.01.2022 I know 2020 has been a mixed up kinda year, but now our seasons seem to have muddled themselves up. We went from lovely Spring days with temperatures in the mid to high 20's to today ... A "feels like" temperature of FIVE degrees with 50km/hr gusty winds! EEP! Spring! Come back!! And since you know how much my Beloved Geek Boy & I LOOOOOOVE cold weather - NOT!! - we're snuggled down in front of a fave movie ... Or two ... Or three. Can you guess what we're watching? Some Secret Squirrel stitching to keep my hands occupied & it's not a bad way to ride out a weird weather swing ... Though I hope Spring returns soon! What are YOU up to today? 02.01.2022 Hello everyone! I hope you're keeping safe & well. I'm contemplating endings & beginnings tonight ... When I really should be going to sleep! GB & I have run out of our break (ending) & Spring is hinting that it's almost here (beginning). 01.01.2022 Mondays can be a bit of a drag, can't they? The start of the working week when I have to head off to my grown up job so I can keep supplying my fabric addiction. To brighten up Monday, I thought I'd share a splash of sunshine with you. "Spread Sunshine" includes instructions to make a large tote bag & matching tablet pouch featuring sunshiny stitcheries.
