09.01.2022 Hi all. Please find below a message from the WNA in relation to commencing the netball season. Please send us a message if you have any questions or concerns. Dear Clubs and Members, Firstly I would like to say thank you with your patience during the current environment and with the return of netball. ... At this stage the plan is for our netball season to return on the 18 July 2020 (dependant of COVID restrictions). Please see attached updated calendar to show the new season dates. I acknowledge that this season will be a shorter season, and understandably this was out of anybody's control, however we have attempted to get as much in as we can to make the experience for our players, officials and members as best as possible. I also acknowledge that this calendar may not suit some people, however in consultation with clubs, WNA have attempted to take on board all feedback and come to a shared decision. If you are affected by COVID and can no longer participate in the season I would urge you to contact your club committees to discuss further. We need to keep in mind though, that the above start date may change at any point given the current COVID restrictions, and our return to play will be dependant on advice from Netball NSW and the NSW Government. If we do return, there maybe restrictions in place in terms of numbers allowed at the venue as well as hygiene requirements, so we need to be aware of this. WNA are currently in the process of developing a COVID Response plan, which needs to be approved by Wollondilly Council, as recommended by Netball NSW in their 'return to play' guidelines. This will need to be adhered too by all members to ensure our netball and wider community continue to be safe from further infections of COVID. This plan will be provided to clubs for further discussion and assistance in implementation. WNA are excited about the season being a possibility and can't wait to enjoy the game we love with everybody. Some other things that I want to let you know about are; - There will be no March Past this season; - NSG will play the 10 rounds only, and not participate in games during finals - The Tahmoor Sports ground development will be commencing around approximately August 2020, so we will be playing NSG games on the hard courts from 9am. All other competition games will be played from 10.30am. - There will be no night competition this season given the delay in the Winter competition season. - Further information regarding the 'Return to Play' guidelines set out by Netball NSW can be accessed by the following link ; www.netball.com.au/return-to-netball - There will only be canteen facilities for the first 2-3 weeks (until TSG development works commence) selling drinks and lollies ONLY. If you have any further questions, please in the first instance contact your club committee members.
08.01.2022 Today is our fundraising Pizza day. Take the night off from cooking and order some pizzas from Dominos Picton. Delievering now to Tahmoor.
07.01.2022 !!! IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE 2020 SEASON FROM WNA!!! Dear Members of WNA and Clubs, It is with a very big heavy heart (and tears from WNA and clubs) that the WNA 2020 season needs to be cancelled. Club Presidents and the association have met on numerous occasions over the past few weeks to discuss the possibility of our season commencing. We have thought about the impacts on our clubs and our members, and have had to come to this difficult decision late last night afte...r WNA met with the council and our Mayor Matthew Deeth yesterday. The impacts of the re-development on our already existing courts has forced us into a position that it is not viable for a season to run. WNA were advised that the grass courts and court 6 will need to be demolished as part of the excavation area. Our initial conversations were that we may be able to play on our existing 6 hard courts, however this is no longer viable. The fencing needs to be put up along the sideline of court 5, not allowing us to use this court either as this would create a safety issue for our players and officials. WNA and clubs cannot complete a season on 4 courts, which is unfortunate and makes us all very sad. WNA and the club presidents made a decision late on the 7 July to cancel the season. We do apologise to all our members as we very much wanted the season to go ahead after the devastating year we have had with fires, floods and COVID. We are continuing to work closely with council to ensure we have 12 courts to commence next season. I know this may not be the outcome that people wanted but it is what is best for all our members at this time. All I can say is that next year will be bigger and better and all we can do is look forward to that. NNSW have been contacted about fees given the new information and WNA are waiting on a response. Clubs will be advised of this as soon as we are. Where possible clubs/WNA will refund monies paid, however running costs already accounted for need to be deducted from some accounts, so please be patient with this process. In relation to representative teams, WNA will meet with coaches and players sometime this week to discuss the representative season further. If you have any questions or queries, I urge you to speak to your club committee members in the first instance. Thank you to everyone for your patience, and a huge thankyou to all the clubs for their collaboration during this difficult time. It is not easy on any of us, but netball will continue and we will continue to be there for the sport we love.
06.01.2022 On the day we should be having our March Pass and the first round of games being played- there are no whistles blowing, no one is cheering and our courts are empty. We hope all our members are coping the best they can during this time. We are here if you need. Stay safe, stay healthy, be kind and we'll be hopefully back on court soon.
02.01.2022 Good luck to all our Tahmoor girls trialling for WNA rep and development teams today. Have fun, believe in yourself and do your best. You are all superstars!
01.01.2022 For our little ones.
